Middle of June or after Labor day?!

My boyfriend and I have a trip planned for June 18th 2013. Were both college students so we assumed that we were doomed to summer crowds as I don't think professors would be understanding if we missed a week of school for Disneyland... ANYWAYS, we got to talking and started wondering if it would be a better idea to go after labor day, maybe around September 10th. We figure hotels would be cheaper, and it'll be less crowded. But I've never been at either of these times, so I was wondering what the experts (you guys!) think?

How many days would you be there? Assuming you have enough time to spend there (at least four days) I would choose June. If you're going to go just once in a year, I would choose a time when Disneyland has everything to offer. During the off-season you risk ride-closure, less hours that the parks are open, less entertainment, etc.

I would definitely choose June in your case. And at DLR summer crowds are not doom. Most folks with doom reports do all the wrong things like show up late, fail to take afternoon breaks, leave early evening, don't know how to get and use FPs, and a host of other common mistakes. The typically moderate weather in Anaheim and manageable crowds during the summer usually make summer trips quite nice.

With a half-way decent touring strategy summer is the best time to go IMO for occasional visitors who are mobile and energetic (i.e., college students ).
