i'm curious to all those who have booked a mid size suv, alamo says similar to a chevy equinox, i wondered what types of suv's had you gotten.

Normal Fleet Inventory:

Chevrolet Equinox
Pontiac Torrent
Saturn Vue
Kia Sorento (Pretty rare)

are they pretty roomy for 3 people, 2 adults and one child, lots of bags though

That should work ok, as far as bags, look to fit 2 large (stacked) and 3 small (on top of the stacked) and a few carry ons. Leg room is excellent for the rear passenger....

Last Fall when I was down there Alamo had no Equinox or Vue SUVs there so I got a Trailblazer instead. I think the Equinox would have been better......

TB has more luggage space, Equinox/Vue has more people space

Last October we had a Pontiac Torrent.
This past June we had a Saturn Vue.
(Both rentals from Alamo)

We got a Buick Rendezvous from MCO Alamo for mid-size.

There was definitely room for 3 passengers and luggage. Worst case, you put luggage in the pack seat next to the 3rd passenger.

We rented thru Alamao this past May. Booked the midsize SUV. When we got to the lot, the only thing available was the Saturn Vue. We could have waited around for something different, but it suited us just fine :)

so if there are no mid sized available, do you go all the way back into the airport or is there a place on the level where they authorize you to get a different vehicle.

There is always someone inside the garage, ask the attendent. Usually, they will send you over to National or authorize an upgrade (most times to anything your heart desires. It seems I would head over to the luxury aisle :cool1: )

On the same topic, anyone rented an SUV from Dollar? Any ideas on their current inventories?

Almost Always a Chrysler product. A midsize would be a Jeep Liberty and a fullsize would be a Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo.

Im glad you brought this up. Last week when I was down the shore I looked inside a few equniox's the trunk space looked really small to me. I had one reserved w/alamo for $260. sept. 3 to sept 12th I was really happy about my rate but when I saw the inside of that equnoix I got scared, I have 3 adults and 2 kids so thats alot of bags!!! Noway are they fitting in there! I got a rate of $267. for a mini van from thrifty( :sad2: not excited about having to take the shuttle but I couldn't get a better rate anywhere else) Not that I wont keep trying :surfweb:

We rented a mid-size SUV from Alamo MCO in February. We went to the garage and got to choose from any of the mid-size SUVs on the lot for either Alamo or National. There were several makes and models. We ended up choosing a brand new Equinox, loaded. It was more than adequate for 3 of us, with plenty of cargo room for our bags (3 large suitcases, 2 small suitcases and a duffle). We rented the same thing for our trip on Saturday. Hopefully they will let us choose again.
