Mid October Crowds?

We are looking at possibly doing one more trip this year for DH's birthday. I was looking at Sunday October 17- Wednesday October 20. How would the crowds be considering that it is Halloween time? Or would we be better off waiting for November? We have been during Halloween before and enjoy it, but last time we went in October it was the last weekend of the month. We are hoping crowds Sunday-Wednesday won't be nearly as bad as the last weekend of the month was.

The only thing I can think of that would bring in crowds during your visit is CHOC walk is that Sunday and Utah break is that weekend so Sunday may be busy. We are actually going the following weekend arriving the 21st.

We went last year the second week of october (school break here in scottsdale, AZ) and it was crowded, I wouldn't say too bad for the rides, the lines were decent (max. we waited was 45 minutes for Toy Story Mania) but it was crazy during the nights, if you are planning to see the fireworks, you should get there at least an hour before to get a decent spot.

Make sure you get a FP for the Haunted Mansion.

Have fun, the park looks so beautiful during that season.....;)

I have to agree. We were there last October and the days weren't to bad. We went early and collected fast passes all day long. The evenings were crazy busy, but with the fast passes it was fine. The hub was impossible to get through/around with the fireworks crowd.

I am wondering since they are not offering the Halloween fireworks to the general attendance this year if it won't be so bad at night.

That is a good point. It may be lower crowds without locals going to see the Halloween fireworks.

OP, remember that on same nights in October (October 1, 5, 8, 12, 15, 19, 22, 26, 29 and 31) DL closes early for the Halloween party.

True. We were considering going to the Halloween party on that Tuesday since we get the AP discount for advanced purchase. Do you think it is worth it for 2 adults to go?

As 2 adults, we are planning on going. We have been to MNSSHP in WDW, and it was so much fun. I am hoping this will be close to that, even though it won't have the Boo to You parade, which is the best parade ever.

How much are tickets with the AP discount?

So I called HOJO today and made a reservation for October 17-21. I figured that they have the great AP rates for those dates and we can always cancel if we change our minds. I think the only way we would cancel that reservation is if they opened up the week before.
We are trying a NDD1 room this time. We went with the premium room our first stay at HOJO in May, but we weren't super impressed. We never used the microwave, but I will miss the dreamscape bedding! I requested 1st floor (skylights are nice during the day but not bright and early in the morning) in buildings 5 or 6 facing the courtyard. Will this location be the quietest since we are facing away from the freeway and not right near the kid water area?
