My 30th bday is November 8, so my wife is treating me to my first trip to Disneyland.

She wants to be there for my birthday, but I'm flexible. Is Veteran's day going to increase the crowds? Are weekends still busy that time of year? What is this bats day I'm reading about... how many attend this unofficial event? How do I tell if there are any conferences at that time? When does the Thanksgiving rush start? Any rides coming back from rehab that would affect when I should go?

Ooohh what a great way to celebrate Your birthday! What a sweet wife You have!:goodvibes

The week of Your birthday sounds like it would be good to visit.

My husband and I are going Nov. 13th thru 18th. We chose this time because it should be good weather. It's before the thanksgiving rush. And we may get to see some christmas decorations.

I hope Your trip is Special!!

A Verrrrrrrrrrrrryyy Merrrrrrrrrrrrry UnBiRtHdAy to You!

go late nov and see christmas decrations they go up nov 21st and Happy bday mines nov 30th i was there last year for it.

We chose to avoid Vetran's day. I was very strategic in my dates for this year. We are still on a quest to find that perfect, low crowd time. The best I've found so far (sorry, off-topic) is late Jan to early Feb (before President's day.) I have high hopes that when we go the first week in Nov, it will be pretty quiet in the parks. I'm also hoping people will steer clear of DL this year because of the fuel prices. I have a feeling that will make a difference, so overall it may be less crowded.

Yes, Veterans weekend is quite busy. We went in Nov 05, we were in the parks Sunday-Wednesday. Monday (Vets Day) was not bad at all. SUnday was pretty busy, although tolerable, Ive been through worse. The people we met up with were there Friday-Sunday, and said Friday, and more so Saturday, were off the hook crazy busy. Like a Mad (hatter) house. I would avoid that weekend, but the weekdays surrounding it you should be fine. The 8th is a Saturday right?? (Our anniversary is the 10th). I would go the week before, and maybe do a special breakfast the day of and head home, or arrive on the 8th, do a special dinner, and start your park days on Sunday.

Regardless what you do, have a great trip!!:wizard:

best low croud would be end nov i sware most everything was walk on last year it was grate

Hi there!

Well, my hubby and I are arriving on Veteran's Day, because we heard it's really not that bad, and we're staying until Saturday.
We figured Wed and Thursday would be really nice, with low crowds!
HTH. :thumbsup2

Bats=Goth, so lots of Goths there that day. I do not know what specific day it is though.

website says Nov 8-9... but I still don't know what that does to the crowds. Since I'm going to be 30, I'm guessing I might actually have something in common with them and try for the same rides/restaurants...
