Going in Sept. With short hours I hate to cut the days short for breaks. What do you think about going the a waterpark from 1:30 to 4:40 for the break? We love to read and could play somein the water and some resting on the beach chairs. Also for AK break is there anywhere to rest and read for a break? Dinner at Boma for 6pn.

Depends on your situation. Do you have really small children? They usually get tired out and need a break. Also if you are going in early Sept. it's still going to be very hot. You may want to take a break just to get some relief.
There are a lot of benches, nooks and crannies where you can take a pit stop in AK but I don't know if you would want to stop there for a few hours and read? How about doing the parks until 2-3 then heading back to your resort to cool out until dinner?

We probably wouldn't do a water park as a break. That's JUST MY OPINION THOUGH!! The water parks tend to get busier during the afternoon. Will you be hauling your swim gear with you to the parks? If not you'll lose time transporting to resort. Water parks are also tiring, though you might not think so.

As for AK, if you're trying to sit for a period of time, I would suggest finding a table at Restaurantosaurus. It offers quick dining for lunch and dinner. I think it opens around 11:00. It is a big place and if you time it right you could find a table off in the corner, or even a table outside underneath some shade.

Have a great time. September will be a good time to visit.

We never take breaks even when there are long hours and we have small children. With the shorter hours you would loose a lot of park time and by the time you come back it would be close to closing. I would just find a long cool ride and sit for a bit or if you have kids go to Tom Swayer island for an hour and let the adults sit in a rocker and the kids explore and play. IMO going to the water parks for a couple of hours would be hard and tiring-getting there changing, changing back and getting back to a park is a long time and if the kids are having a good time it would be hard to pull them out of there.

We go back to the hotel for 1-2 hrs, lay down and rest our legs & feet and/or go to the resort pool and soak. It's refreshing and then we head back out to the parks again. Waterparks are so much fun but we went to BB on our first trip and there is a lot of walking there too, up to all the rides.

But I could imagine the waterparks being relaxing if you don't want to try all the slides downhill! ;)

We find the waterparks to be more tiring than restful. With all the slides, the running around and swimming, it can be exhausting! My daughter needed a rest after going to BB! We usually take pm breaks, but I can sympathize with how hard that can be with the short hours.

We went to Boma for the first time recently and spent some time exploring AKL and their savannah after dinner. Perhaps you could do that before dinner -- it was quite relaxing there.
