Just wondering how the crowds are mid August. We're staying at Disney and thought at day at Universal would be fun but I'm worried about the lines.

A lot of kids go back to school mid August so the parks are pretty good. I have have been there twice in mid/late August for a week and thought the crowds were very managable, of course I had FOTL because I was staying at the RP or HR, so I used the express line.

We have been there the past three years the last two weeks in August. If you arrive early when the park opens you can hit all the major rides by lunch, even without express.

Have a nice lunch and hit some shows in the afternoon when it gets hot or head back to your hotel and enjoy the pool.

Kids go back to school August 20th. If you come before this it's going to be packed. If you come after this, the place is a ghost town, but closes early at 8pm instead of 10pm.

Here's the secret if you are coming before August 20th. The parks will open early, at 08:30am, yet they don't tell anyone. Therefore, you want to arrive the parking garage at 07:45am.

Some like to sleep in on vacation and arrive the park at 11am. Don't do this, that's what 90% of the people do who visit. There is a herd of people who show up at 11am all wanting to do the same rides. Do the early thing and you'll have a great visit.

Thanks for your answers, we'll be there the 15th-19th so we'll go the early morning route.
