Has anyone ever stayed at the Microtel in Tifton, GA? Thinking about moving a reservation there from Country Inn and Suites to save about 25 bucks.

Microtels seem to be a new chain of hotels, the locations are fairly new. So all the rooms are nice and clean.

Now a couple years ago when I was on the road trip with my aunt from Indiana to Florida, we stayed at a Microtel in northern Georgia. Everything was good, except for the fact that the wall the beds were against, was the wall to the lobby that the TV hung on. So my aunt was a bit miffed about listening to the TV late at night, but the check in guy was nice and turned it down.

I stayed in a Microtel once. It was a state of emergency- no electricity at the hotel we had our reservation- so we kept driving. Finally found A Microtel(not the one you are talking about) with really no rooms- but they took pity on us and gave us a conference room type setup- with beds. They couldn't have been nicer. But the accomodations were eh- but beggers can't be choosers!

I'm from GA too. We try to break up the drive since we have two little ones and usually make it past Tifton, more like 10-30 miles from the border. We've stayed at a Days Inn on the GA side and it was nice. It only cost $39 and included a free continental breakfast. We'll probably stop there again next time as well. Of course we're not spending our whole vacation there...we leave after school and stop around 11pm, then get up and we're only a couple of hours from Orlando.

I don't think I would move to the Microtel, especially when your savings is only $25. I think that one has been there awhile. DH used to stay in a Microtel in Tifton on one of his jobs and that was about 10 years ago and he said it wasn't the best back then.

I've never stayed at the Microtel but we always stay at the Country Inn in Tifton. It's pretty new and nice. I probably wouldn't change for $25.
