Did anyone purchase this after using the trial offer?? I used the trial offer and now I can't change any of the material I received or created during the trial period. I am taking online courses and I am wondering if someone sends me attachments using this software, will I be able to add to them or just look at them??? I was thinking about getting the software but its 149.00!!! Can I get this for any less???

Your software is basically just a viewer now. It is not a funtioning copy.

I bought the $149 version because I could install it on 3 computers instead of one. Worked out well for my family.

I ended up going out and purchasing the software today. I found it on sale at Office Max plus I had a coupon so I ended saving about $50.00!! I thought I would post in case anyone else was interested!

Does anybody know if it is only legal to put it on three computers or if they somehow stop the installation after three computers? I installed it on a computer that is now obsolete, without ever even using it! (BIG virus problem) Just curious if I could use it on a different computer now...

Please help!

(I don't mean to take over the thread, it just seemed fitting to ask the question here...)

You should be able to use it on another computer. You may not be able to register online but can do it over the phone.

For a normal, shelf bought or store bought version of Office( Word/Excel/etc) you are only allowed to install on a single computer only. If you are no longer using the software on the old machine (overwritten, thrown away, etc) you are allowed to install it on your new machine with no problem. (I believe that the license says if you are going to stop using it on one machine and use it on another, you have to uninstall it from the original. If the machine is toast because of a virus, I would consider that 'removed'. :) )

If you have multiple computers in your house, you are not allowed to install it on each machine, even if you are only using it on one machine at a time.

Of course, the software won't stop you from installing it on other machines, it's not really self policing. They really rely on you to police yourself.

The new versions of OS and Microsoft Office products require you to register. It takes a snapshot of your system so it knows if you are attempting to install it on another system. If you update your computer so much that it thinks it is a new computer you won't be able to register on line but will need to talk to a representative.

The student and teacher version allows it to be used on 3 computers legally. I have done this with no problems.
