Hi,

We have done this a few times and love it.

Check this out from last years MVMCP.... MVMCP 2003

Hopefully will give you a idea of what happens.

I am sure you will love it.

Hi sflmouse

We did MVMCP in Dec 2001 and had a great time. It was very busy , but the parks look fantastic with their christmas trees, christmas music and characters in santa/wooly clothes (which was quite worrying as the temperatures were in the high 80's). As you walk up main street there is fake snow falling from the rooftops, you can get cookies and hot chocolate, and the shows were really good especially the Christmas parade. You can get your photo taken (just a 6 x 4 size) and it was a nice keepsake that gets sent home and arrived home before we did. (all these are in the cost of the ticket).

My bit of advice would be to spend a bit of the afternoon there (if you have the UPH pass) before the park closes at 6pm, you will be given a wrist band (I think) and you'll be able to stay in the Park at a designated area until it reopens at 7pm for the evening. We arrived around 6.30pm and the car parks/entrance were packed, as we didn't know we could've got in earler.

Another thing not to miss is the Osbourne Family lights, when we saw it, it was still around the Residential Street area of MGM, but it won't be there this year because of the Stunt Show being built. Again there was the fake snow and as you walked around the very-over-the-top decorated houses we were given glasses (a bit like 3D ones) that made all the lights look like there were fairies around them. It was a lovely touch and of course you don't pay extra for it. I know it wasn't on last year but it will be on New York Street this year.

Have a great time

thanks for that folks, you have convinced me it is worth going to and also good to know you can stay in the park if you go in early.

Hi

We went to the party this last December! Thoroughly enjoyed it! Just being on Main Street which looked so pretty with 'snow' as well was worth it for me!

I was not so keen on the show in the Tomorrowland Theater - "Mickey's Twas The Night Before Christmas" - way too cheesy for me (and my DH and son agreed), but the parade was great and as it was not particularly busy the night we were there, we went on all the rides with minimal wait.

We were able to enter the park late afternoon and so had lots of lovely Magic Kingdom time!!

It was a pity the Osborne lights in MGM were not shown in 2003 but they will be back this year so definitely don't miss this either!

We also enjoyed the Candlelight Processional very much - we had the dinner package and so you get a reserved section of seating - if you need more on this, let me know!

I would like to know a bit more about the dinner package, is this something booked well in advance

The "Candlelight Processional Dinner Package" has not gone on sale yet. (You do not pay if you only want to see the show, only for the dinner package).

I am very glad we booked this with a few provisos.

Firstly, the show takes place at the America Gardens Theatre and as you may know, you sit outside there so if the weather is bad, you are in for a tough time!

We saw the second show (6.45pm) and had the Rose & Crown dinner PS for 8.00pm - enjoyed the show and it was lovely and dry, a bit chilly but we were dressed for it.

However, we walked round to the Rose & Crown and as we were sitting down to dinner, the heavens opened and it really poured and poured, not on us you understand, but on all those poor people who were watching the 8.15pm show. They must have been well and truly drowned!

Another thing I would point out - we knew they open up the seating to everyone 15 minutes prior to the show, but still felt as we had the package and knew we had "preferred seating", we could take our time and that arriving 30 minutes before the show was early enough. Well, we saw a very long queue and thought - those poor souls haven't booked the dinner package............ only to find out that that was the line of the people who HAD booked, LOL!!! (That wiped the smug look of our faces :teeth: !!)

It was fine once we were inside, we still got great seats but thought I'd tell people, as it is very disconcerting when you see that line!!

Dear WDWFan,UK, this year will be our first time at WDW for the Candlelight Processional. What you described is exactly what we would want but I wasn't sure you could see the show THEN have dinner. Thank you for confirming that we can! :D We would like to see the 6:45 show and have dinner at LeCellier at 8:00. I take it we should show up for the show no later than 6:15, correct? Did you have enough time to get to dinner or did you feel like you were running?

I am so excited about this because also, we will be there for New Years Eve which is a BIG 1st for us! Any and all advice about that would be much appreciated. We are staying at the GF and I would love to be in the MK for the countdown. Is it possible to get a dinner reservation for Tony's or Liberty Tree for December 31st at, say, 9 P.M.? Also, should we be in the park early or does having a PS for dinner assure us that we will be admitted? I've read here that the park sometimes reaches capacity. We'll be there good and early but do we need to go in the afternoon or would early evening be OK? Gee...I hope I'm not being too naive but when I comes to NYE at the Mouse House I'm
