I am used to going to the Halloween Party and am thinking about going to the Christmas party this year. Is it really neat and are the parade and fireworks just as good or better. Is there anything else that they do that might help me decide? Thanks for any help.

We did MNSSHP last year and loved it so we are trying MVMCP as well.

I just want to see the characters dressed in X-mas stuff and Snow in WDW.

MNSSHP is going to be hard to match-up though.

But you also get MGM,Ak, Epcot and all the resorts in as well.

We're in the just the opposite situation! We always go to MVMCP, but this year we're doing MNSSHP. I hoping I'll love it! We really love the atmosphere of MVMCP. The snow on Main Street, the hot chocolate and cookies, the parade, the fireworks---ALL OF IT! :goodvibes

We LOVE MVMCP and did it in 2000, 2001, did MNSSHP in 2002, 2003, did MNSSHP in 2004, did both parties in 2005 and am doing MNSSHP again this year.

We try and alternative the two parties because we LOVE them both. If I had to choose, I'd lean more toward MVMCP because I LOVE Christmas time.

The party is great. Very festive. The parade and HolidayWishes alone are worth the price of admission. The shows are fun too; we loved both the castle show and Twas the Night Before Christmas show.

Good luck deciding!

DH and I love MVMCP for the Christmas atmosphere. DD's (12) and (6) love to trick or treat at MNSSHP, so we've done both for the past couple of years. I mentioned to DH that we really should save money and only do one party this year. His reply was "the girls are only going to be young for a short time, so we need to take them while they still want to go!" I was shocked. So. . . I guess we're doing both again this year. It's tough to choose, but I would choose MVMCP if I had to.

We're doing both this year and can't wait! We've never done either one so it will all be new to us.

The fireworks are amazing!! They have perimeter fireworks that light up all over the 7 seas lagoon. Good tip for anyone thinking of leaving before the fireworks- boat and monorail transportation stops from the MK due to the barges that set off the perimeter fireworks. Stay in the park and view from Main St as you exit; otherwise be prepared to watch them standing in front of the train station.

Thanks for all your input. I did not know they have snow and different shows. Is the snow real blown snow or fake snow? Are those different shows both at the castle? I wish they would explain the Christmas Party a little better. I am really looking forward to it and think I will like it just as much as the Halloween Party.

Twas the Night Before Christmas is at the Galaxy Theater, then you also have the show in front of the castle, among other festivities. The snow is fake, but seems very real. I haven't been to MNSSHP yet (planning for '07), but the thing about Christmas season that I don't think you get during Halloween is the vast celebration that occurs throughout WDW. Epcot has tons of stuff like Candlelight Processional and a nightly Tree Lighting with characters, plus the various "santas" at almost every country in WS. MGM has the Osborne Lights (more fake snow blown). Christmas is everywhere you look and we loved it so much last year that we're going back again this Dec.

The snow is not really fake snow...it's more like highly concentratged soap bubbles that look and fall like snow. It's really beautiful. Last year we were in the MK for the party and it was freezing, which made it feel more Christmas-ie. I have never been to the Halloween party, so I cannot compare it but we really loved WDW at the Holidays.

Speaking of haloween at WDW, do they still have the Happy Haunts Ball? I have not read anything about that in a long while.

The Christmas party also has stations with free cocoa and cookies!

Ok! thanks again for more info. I must be an idiot cause I don't know where the Galaxy Theater is that Twas the night before Christmas is in. Please advise.

It is to the left of Buzz if you are facing Buzz.

It is nice to see the parks decorated for Christmas and the characters in their santa and cold weather costumes! Very cute and magical as usual. Can't compare, never done MNSSHP... being from OH, its weird/but nice to hear x-mas carols in 70 degree weather and looking at palm trees! I would try it for sure.

TELL ME ABOUT IT. I was in WDW last NOV and as I was enjoying osborne lights I had weird feelings going on in my head.
