We are thinking about going on the 9th. Do you think that this night is going to sell out? Can you book a rest. when you peurchase tickets? If the the park closes at 5:00--and your dinner is at 5:30 do you have to leave the park and come back in? What rest. are available to eat at--are their only certain ones open? Thanks

Does anyone know what the price for the event is with an Annual Pass? We don't have our passes yet but will have them by November.

Thanks in advance!

Elissa

We will be arriving on December 19th and I wasn't planning to go to MK until that following Monday.

Will I miss anything other than the free photo and cookies if I don't go to the party and just watch the parade and shows on Monday the 22nd? Or are those shows and the parade only special events during the Christmas party nights?

thanks!

Hello to all!

Well today is offical we are going to Disney!

:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I'm so excited! We are going Dec. 4-11

What is Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

Can someone explain what it is, how much does it cost and anything any other information.

Thank You!
Gily Ann

We are going to be there and December for the first time and this looks like something we could do. How late is the park open for the party? Are the rides open? If so, are the lines short? Do you also have to have a park ticket for that day, or can you go on an "off" day? Thanks for any info.

I will try to answer your questions:
This is our first trip in December and the first MVMCP. I believe that the park is open until Midnight or close to it. I do not think that you have seperate admission--other than your ticket for the event---so yes it could be your off day. As far as I could tell I think that almost everything is open or the rides that are open for e-night is open. i hope that I did not confuse you even more.

I checked on AP discounts and was told there was none.

Also, I was under the impression that you had to show both your admission ticket to the party as well as a park admission ticket (I don't think it can be an off day but I may be wrong.)

This is the info that they have at the official WDW site:

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Tickets

A magical night of holiday snow, an enchanting parade, Disney Character greetings, family photos and tasty treats, plus the most popular Magic Kingdom® Park attractions. Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party takes place from 7 p.m. to midnight on selected nights.

So I don't think you need to have a valid park admission ticket for that day.

You are probably right, I think I was thinking of e-nights.

Sorry!

Which nights of the week are traditionally better for not having the huge crowds? Is it crowded right from the beginning, or closer to Christmas?

Getting a little anal here I know, but do you think a Tuesday or a Thursday would be less crowded? We will have a choice of Tues 12/2 or Thurs 12/4 as possible dates for the party...??

TIA!
Sammy

We have our trip planned for the week after Thanksgiving and want to do MVMCP this time. The only trouble is, there is a small chance that I might be changing jobs and we'd have to re-schedule the trip for a later date.

I'm guessing that these tickets are non-refundable?

I'd pick Tuesday that way if it rains, maybe they'll let you go Thursday instead of Tuesday...

Beattyfamily....

What a good idea! Hadn't even thought about a "rain contingency" plan. Thanks!

Sammy

We got our tickets yesterday in the mail. Everyone is so excited! My son has already claimed his.("I want the Mickey one")

Just wanted to say that I called Disney and you do not have to have a park ticket for the day of the party, unless you wish to enter before 7:00. This is great for us because we will do it our first night there, the kids will be wound up and restless from riding in the car all day.

This will be our first time attending the MVMCP. So, according to the post above, they will not let MVMCP ticket holders enter the park earlier than 7pm? I thought I had read you could enter the park (maybe) as early as 4pm if you were a MVMCP ticket holder. Also, do they actually make everyone leave the park when it closes at 5pm?

Would it be in our best interest to go ahead and plan a visit to the park during the day? We were kind of hoping to relax during the day to get ready for the party.

What is the most enjoyable thing about the MVMCP?

Btw- we booked our tickets for December 9th..

Thanks so much~

For the last couple years, they have "unofficially" let party ticket holders in with only their party ticket in after 4:00p. The park closes at 6:00p. If you are not in a restaurant eating, they will usher you into Tomorrowland while they are busy emptying the park.

I'd avoid MK till the party so you aren't too tired for the party.

For me, the most enjoyable thing(s) is the atmosphere...the snow on Main Street, the decorations, the music. The parade, the fireworks. Rudolph flying down from the castle at the beginning of the fireworks. Cinderella's carraige on display behind the castle with Princesses there for photos. All Dumbo's have Santa hats on. The free photo. The Christmas shows.

There's so many fun things...I can't pick one.
