Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Central 2006

Otherwise eat at one of the Hotels I prefer Kona's at Poly or Concourse at CR just make it early so you can get to MK intime for the Party.

Thats what my Mom and I did and it worked out great. We had a late lunch (2:30ish I think) at the Kona Cafe. This filled us up. We also then did a monorail tour of the Poly, GF, and CR to see the decorations, stopping at the lounges at CR and Poly for a drink. We then headed over to party around 5:00ish. We were full for the night, and just had a cookie at the party.

Would you go the first day of arrival? We are arriving on the 14th, which is the last day to get discounted tickets. (Just also happens to be DH birthday). Or would you wait and go the following week, 18th or 19th. We have never gone before and DH just about fell over when I told him the cost. I had already budgeted for the tickets so he felt better when I told him that, but he is still not happy with the cost. Help me convince him it is worth it.

I read that the mousefest people will be there on thursday the 7th of December. DOes anyone know if this will make a big impact on how crowded it will be? That was the night I was going to go but if it will be super busy I might change it to the 11th or 12th. Thanks.

what is 'mousefest'? tia!

Okay, just got back after a weekend away from the comp and oh what happy news to come home to!

We will be attending the 11/30 party, hopefully with an ADR for LTT.

Added Mousesavers updates on April 23

Darn, no discount for AP or DVC on the dates we will be there. We will be going on the 7th of December; not going to pay extra for Friday the 8th to be there on my birthday. Besides, I'm gonna be at the DIS meet at Jellyrolls on the 8th! :drinking: :bday: party: :drinking1

Do you need park admission as well as the party ticket (we won't have park hopper, so need to know whether to plan this for an MK day)?

If we are already in the park, do we just stay in the park or do we leave and come back at the proper time?

The Mousefest Cruise is just before this...the "Land" portion of MouseFest starts on Dec 7...but I don't think anything concrete has been decided as to what night they might attend MVMCP. Last year it was on one of the AP discounted nights if I remember correctly. And yes, I guess it does put more people into the park, but it only gets crowded where any official meet might be happening. I wouldn't worry about it being overly crowded due to the MouseFest people.

I am so excited that it is going to be on 11/13!!! I will be arriving that day with 4 of my coworkers for a company retreat and this will be WONDERFUL!!! Add that to the fact that I get to go back in December with my family and I am on cloud nine!! :cloud9: :cloud9:

Mousesavers doesn't have 12/22 listed. :confused3 Everything else I have seen has it listed as a date. I guess I wait until the tickets go on sale to find out for sure. ;)

bjscheel, you do not need park admission for the day, just your MVMCP ticket. You can usually enter around 4:00 or 5:00 pm with that.

I found a list of last years activities and parade schedule. It looks like you could go and never get on a ride and still not see and do all of the Christmas entertainment. Does any know how much of this takes place every day as part of MK entertainment for Christmas? I'd just like to make sure that we do all of the things that can only be done at the MVMCP. If something can be done on a full day at MK, I will leave it for then. We really don't care about gettting on the rides. We have been to WDW twice in last year and half. This trip is specifically to enjoy the Christmas Holiday.

The christmas shows, parade and fireworks are exclusive to the party.

The christmas shows and parade don't switch to daytime till the parties are done with...Christmas week.

Last year, This is what we did. We ate at the clastle for my birthday dinner, we were in Fastasyland about 6:45p and my girls rode Dumbo and the carousel with NO ONE else! We then went and got our photo over with at 7:00p in Tomorrowland, then we did Buzz and then headed to the Twas the night Before Christmas show. Then we went to Toontown, then we headed back toward Main Street for the fireworks at 9:15p and then stayed for the Castle show that was about 1/2 hour later, then stayed for the second parade and boom, the night was over!

It goes by so fast!

Holy crow, I got nervous when I saw this thread & thought I'd missed out on the tickets going on sale! Thought we weren't starting a new thread until then, but glad I didn't miss the date they go on sale! :)

If the dates listed are correct, then Dec 14th is the only date that will have an AP discount in Dec and the only one that falls on our trip (ap discount-wise). If you had a choice would you go then and save the money (for 3 tickets) or go another night in hopes it would be less crowded? We'll be there from the 10th-16th, DS will celebrate his 10th b-day on the 11th & wondered if that might be a fun way to celebrate?

How accessible are the characters at MVMCP? Who has been there in the past? Is Toon Town open or not (I have seen both -- it is and it isn't). Can you get into the park as early as 4:00 pm and then do dinner before the party?

If we go, it will be to supplement our MK experience from the day before. The appeal is the "smaller" crowd and shorter ride lines. However, I have seen info that it is extremely crowded and there is a significant wait for rides.

My DD will be 2.5 and DS 4.5 at the time so I want to make sure it is a good value for us. We will either do 1 day park hopper + MVMCP or 2 day park hoppers (cost difference is about $75 overall).

Who knew a vacation would require so many decisions??????

YMMV. It really depends on who you ask and which party you attend (the last couple are sell outs). Some say its too crowded and experienced long lines and others say it wasn't crowded and was great.

Only you can decide if its worth it to your family.

There are characters out and about you just have to find them. Toontown was open last year.

They've been letting party goers in after 4:00p with just their party ticket for the past few years but it is unofficial and can change at any time.

From Mouseplanet.com:

Late-breaking news - Halloween and Christmas party dates, prices and on-sale date

As this update was going to press, MousePlanet has learned that there were solid but unconfirmed dates and prices for both Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Both parties will have more dates than ever before, will start earlier than ever before, and cost more than ever before.

Halloween party dates will be September 15, 22, 29, October 2, 5, 6, 10, 12, 16, 17, 19, 20, 23, 24, 26, 27, 30 and 31. The first two dates, earlier than ever before, are in addition to the dates that I had previously reported. Note that the Magic Kingdom schedule currently online at the Walt Disney World Web site still shows the park as closing at 9 p.m. and 8 p.m. on those nights, respectively. Discounted advance purchase pricing is $39.36 for adults and $31.90 for children. Advance purchase discounts are not available for October 27, 30 and 31. For those three nights, as well as all tickets bought the day of the event (if available), the pricing will be $45.75 per adult and $38.29 per child. Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members can get an additional 10 percent discount on September 15 and 22, and October 16, 17, 23 and 24. Those additional discounts must be picked up at will-call and will require valid passholder or DVC member identification.

Christmas party dates will be November 13, 17, 27, 28, and 30, and December 1, 4, 5, 7, 8, 11, 12, 14, 15, 18, 19, and 21, although one source indicates that December 22 will also be a party night. The first two dates are the first time that the party has been held before Thanksgiving. Discounted advance purchase pricing is $42.55 for adults and $34.03 for children (including tax). Advance purchase discounts are not available for Friday nights in December, as well as all dates from December 18 on. For those nights, as well as all tickets bought the day of the event (if available), the pricing will be $48.94 per adult and $40.42 per child. Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members can get an additional 10 percent discount on November 13, 17 and 28, and December 14. Those additional discounts must be picked up at will-call and will require valid passholder or DVC member identification.

All prices listed above include tax. Child ticket prices are for ages 3-9, adult prices for ages 10 and up.

Tickets are expected to go on sale on Monday, May 1.
