We are thinking about attending MVMCP during our visit in Dec. Is it possible to book a dinner reservation somewhere in the park (say crystal palace) and stay there between the closing and re-opening of the park for the MVMCP event?

Yes, it is! I love eating at CP before the party. They will book at 90 days and take PS up until 6:00p.

Not only LTT but also Tony's will be open after 6:00 PM for the Party. They just added not to long ago. I have the 13th planned at LTT at 5:10PM hope I can finish in time for the start of Part. :cool1: :Pinkbounc

Hello -

I couldn't find anything on this in the thread - we're trying to decide between the first party or the next Tuesday, November 29. Does the first party usually sell out? I know November 29 is an AP night, but we won't have one of those. Just wondering about you MVMCP veterans' opinions on whether the first party would be really busy, or the second may be due to the AP offer.

Thanks for your help!

What date did you purchase? I didn't purchase mine for 11/29 yet and could help you out if the dates match. I will also be there for the 11/27 but wasn't originally planning to go that day.

Sorry you had to change plans.
Thanks for the offer, RichNKatHolly. I think we need to change to later in the month. It looks like I'll be able to switch them!

Thanks again!

Yes they can be transferred to a new date. I had to do that in 2003. You have to call the ticket reservation to get their mailing address and mail down your tickets and a letter telling them which date you would like to exchange them for. THey will mail you back up new tickets.
Thanks for the good news! I'll call them.

I couldn't find an answer to this anywhere either, we decided to go with 11/29. It seems like a lot of people are going to that one from the Dis and another board I visit, but we'll be happy just to be there! 11/27 is our arrival night, and that's the other thing that influenced us, we're driving this year and who knows how tired we'll be.....

I have read that usually it's only Friday night parties and the last night that have sold out in the past.

In the 3 years I've been to MVMCP, I have never been to one that WASN'T sold out. I've been to the first ones and the ones just after that - during the week and on the weekends. I haven't noticed a significant difference.

:cool1: :Pinkbounc  I have in my hot sweaty little hand my tickets for the party on 18th December - woo hoo!!! Can't believe theyve come so quick!! I dont even get first class mail in England at this speed!!!
Thank you to everyone who has participated in this thread - youve helped me in my choices no end.

is there much of a weather difference if you go in the beginning of December or towards the end of December ?
If you go early December do the days tend to be warmer?
I can't decide when we should go, 12/03 to 12/09 OR 12/10 to 12/16 ??

I don't think you'll notice any difference between consecutive weeks. If you were considering mid Nov versus mid Dec, then weather may be something to consider. 12/3-9 is Pop Warner week (if that's of concern to you). They typically stay at Value resorts and a few Mods.

The weather in December is hard to put your finger on. When we went the week before Christmas in 2001, we wore shorts/T-shirts the first half of the week and then in the second half of the week we wore pants/long sleeves/light jacket. Crazy! Just like the weather here in Louisiana...you just never know what kind of "winter" it will be until right before you go.

We're planing on staying at Wilderness Lodge So I'm hoping it wouldn't affect us much... Do you think that is affects the parks, MVMCP and PS, as far as being packed???
this is our first Family Vacation, and first Disney trip and our dates are flexible.

thanks for all your help

Most of what I've read say Pop Warner doesn't impact crowd levels at the parks, etc. Mostly noticeable at the resorts (esp the pool and food court). But there will be groups of them in the parks and I've heard of an occasional annoyance issue. We're taking DD5 who is at a prime age for mimicking what older kids do. Our decision to go Dec 11-16 was mostly based on reasons other than avoiding Pop Warner week, but I'll admit I'm glad we're not there at the same time.

I am not sure if this is covered somewhere else on here, I just can't read thru all these posts. I ordered my tix on 5/12 to MVMCP for 12/8. I was told at the time of purchase that my tix would be mailed and I would recieve them in 4-6 weeks. I then would need to go to a guest services window to show proof of my AP in order to have the discount amount refunded. I called today to check on the tix and was told by the CM that I would be receiving them 10-14 DAYS before the day of the event. I am soooo confused. :confused3 I want to make sure we receive these tickets before we leave. I know it's a long ways away but I am really anal about this stuff. Somebody please straighten things out for me.

I called and spoke with a 3rd CM who confused me even more. So, I kindly but firmly asked her who I need to speak with to find out for sure where my tickets are. She gave me the number to Ticket Services, 407-566-4985. The lady I spoke with there, Melinda, was superb. :wizard: I told her my name when she anserwed and by the time I was finished telling her my dillema she just said "They are at will call." She had already looked me up by name. She said that there was no AP discount for the 12/8 date, and she would be happy to mail them out to me. She verified my address and said she would send them right out. :Pinkbounc Took all of 2 min. to straighten out.
