Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Central 2005

Does anyone know when the parade and fireworks are? I'm thinking with DD5 and DS(almost 2), we won't be lasting til midnight.

I'd like to know too. My kids will never make it that late (or ME!) even with a long nap.

Thanks!

Also, is this parade the same one I saw taped on the Christmas Day special? And do they have special performers (like Mariah Carey last year) during MVMCP?

The parade is usually 8:15p and 10:45p and the fireworks are usually 9:15p

The parade is their Christmas parade and although it's one of my favorite parades, it isn't exactly like the one on Christmas day. The one on Christmas day has celebrities and it's longer with floats from the other parks. The regular Christmas parade does NOT have celebrities and it doesn't have the floats from MGM and AK but it is still a wonderful parade.

Glad I found this thread. We couldn't decide when to go, but seeing that the PopWarners will be there the 4-11th, I have made the final decision! We are going for Thanksgiving and the week after, so will go to the party on the 29th! :cool1:

We were at two MVMCP's last year and had a great time, the parade was filmed Sat Morn ( wk After thanksgiving) and Maraih Carey was in the park Sunday afternoon, and then the MVMCP Sunday Night,,,,, Yes, it's busy and all, and the short lines aren't all there made up to be as they aren't at every attraction it seems some stay busy and others are empty,, we didn't stay in line for the free pics as there was a long line... ( I feel that you should go for the shows and parade as you can't see them at other times, and see the attractions rides during normal park time. Have a great time as we won't :sad2: be going this year....

Hi! I searched throught the last 5 pages, and saw something about the PopWarners teams being there in Dec. What is it???
Thanks!

Never mind my last question...I found the answer.

New question...how does this affect crowds???

I see the parade during MVMCP is the Christmas parade. Does this parade or any other parade occur on any other days during this period?

The Christmas parade is only shown at MVMCP until the week of Christmas. Then the Christmas parade is shown during the day, replacing the Share a Dream Come True parade at 3:00p.

Although I've never been to the parks during Pop Warner (I am, with a little trepidation, taking my family that week this year), I HAVE been to the parks during cheerleading and baseball competitions before. This is what I know, and what I've gleaned from the boards.....if you are staying in a value resort (pop century, all star) you will be impacted. The kids have a tendency to be loud and sometimes not very well behaved. Other than that, not too many people have a big problem with the whole thing. There is some minor disruption in the parks, but it is not more than what I have seen with any other random week when there happens to be allot of teens there. I saw a bunch of complaining on the boards about the teens behavior during Night of Joy, too, but we LOVED it and will be going again in the future.

I think you will be ok if you don't stay at a value and don't get too wound up with some teens goofing off. Just my opinion, though....I know there are others here who will likely not agree! :teeth:

Our first trip to Disney was during Pop Warner week actually. We were booked for ASMo, but changed to POR when we found out about PWs. At the parks, we noticed nothing at all. At the POR pool though, we did see a difference. It was PACKED and LOUD at night everynight. This may be typical though, but it was the PW aged kids.

You will make some AWESOME memories at NoJ! DW and I went in 03 and had THE MOST amazing time that week......so much so that we bought DVC membership so we could come back year after year for the event!

This year we are going to MVMCP and candlelight processional instead, but we will be going in the future!

I just called Disney and the CM had no dates or prices and had no clue when they'd be released. She said to try back in July or August! :earseek: I told her they went on sale May 1 last year and she was shocked that no info is available yet. Basically, she was no help.

Thanks for sharing that info.!

I'm getting excited!!! Allears has the dates posted now too for 2005, they weren't there a few days ago....

Even DH is excited, he's going to call for our tickets at LTT PS the first day they're available!

Will there be a post on this thread or a new thread when they're on sale?

Steph

OK,

I need some opinions.

Which day should we go.

Friday the 16th or Sunday the 18th.
We leave on the 20th so that's not an option.

Is Friday crowds that bad? I would hate to get tickets for Sunday the 18th and it rain. Then we would miss MVMCP all together.

On the other hand if we go on the 16th then we have a backup date.

What's yall opinion? Which day would you attend?

Like I stated earlier on this board... If they are selling 20,000 tickets and that is equivelent to a slow day in MK...I say don't worry so much about crowds unless you have kiddos. I would say to go on Friday just because you are correct, then you have a back up date. We'll see what other people say cause I've been in MK during low attendance and it was great!! I'm not worried about lines or people. :mickeybar

No one knows the exact number of tickets Disney sells. They are very secretive about that. Fridays tend to have more locals but in the beginning of the month, maybe not as bad. I feel that each year, they up the amount they sell because the party seems more and more crowded each year.

If I had a choice, I'd avoid Fridays but I wouldn't NOT do MVMCP because my only choice was a Friday night.

I've gone to MNSSHP on Halloween night (always sold out) and it was certainly PACKED but we still had a great time. The streets were packed but some things weren't that crowded.

If you read some reviews on MVMCP, you'll see that Friday night can sometimes be overwhelmng crowd-wise for some who are not used to the streets being packed.

FYI...Friday, December 3 and Friday, December 10 and the last party, December 17 all sold out last year.

Ahhhh, I didn't know that. I guess I'm in the same boat then because I'm going to Disney December 15-21 so I'm trying to decide when I want to go to MVMCP.
