Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Central 2005

ecmommy- Thanks for posting the schedule! It sounds like they're doing it like this year's MNSSHP and holding guests in Frontierland instead of Tomorrowland...

Still don't understand what there is to do while you are being "held." Is it wall-to-wall people? Is it better to wait to arrive at 7:00??
:confused3

Last year they pushed us all into Tomorrowland. I'm guessing it'll be the same this year.

As for what to do, go wait on line to get your picture taken. The lines just get longer as the night goes on anyway. That's what we usually do.

There will be rides open and food places open and the photo location will be open too. This would be a great time to get your photo taken.

Since there is a 6:45 'Twas the Night Before' showing at the Galaxy theater, maybe it would have to be Tomorrowland they'll be shoving us into 6 - 7?

Going tonight, hoping all the rain will end by then!

Hi everyone,

Sorry can't be more clear on the "holding" area. We arrived at MK at 5:00 and went to eat dinner at Pecos Bill in Frontierland. Since it was "ladies night out" we ate and gabbed until 6:30...oblivious to what was going on around us. When we emerged from the restaurant at 6:30, Adventureland was in full swing...Splash and Big Thunder operating, but very few people. We went straight over and rode BTM. So...I'm not sure what they did with other arrivals. We just happened to stay where we were.

Can't help much with merchandise either. I ran into Emporium and saw a few long sleeved T shirts and an ornament. Sorry, I really didn't pay much attention...we were just cutting through to get past the second parade.

Have fun...hope tonight isn't a total washout for everyone...it's ICKY in Orlando right now. It's supposed to be beautiful tomorrow though!

Can you give us an idea of how long the shows / parades are? Just trying to plan my evening since my dd turns into a pumpkin at 10pm!

Also, when does the snow fall?

"Also, when does the snow fall?"

The "snow" fallls the entire evening on Main Street. It is not real snow but foam that is shot from the tops of the buildings along Main Street. I believe that it doesn't officially start snowing until the actual start of the party around 6-7pm.

As far as the parades and shows go I can not help you there. We never actually watch any of the shows or parades. Although I believe the parade is roughly a half hour or so long.

Beware it is possible to get stuck on the wrong side of the parade and not be able to get to certain areas of the park while it is in progress. I suggest you plan out your evening accordingly.

ecmommy...thanks for posting the schedule!! Since we are going on the 20th, I expect I should get some great info before then to plan the night...but believe me...after watching the Food Network special I needed some more holiday fix....Thanks again!

AWESOME!

We went for the first time Sunday night - so exciting and festive. Perfect weather, perfect crowds. Disney really does things right. Sometimes I think they don't charge enough! Ha Ha

Thanks for all the info on these boards - it was a great help in planning our trip!!

Can you tell us where they "herded" everyone before the start of the party?? Was it Tommorrowland or Adventureland???

Thanks!!

Thanks ecmommy for the great report ... We are going the 8th for the first time
I am sorry to ask this again but where will we all be between 6-7 ... for MNSSHP 2004 we were in Tommarow Land but you said you rode SM at 630 so I am confused. Thanks again and I hope everyone has a great time ...

We rode Space Mountain and Buzz Lightyear right before 6:00. So we were already in Tomorrowland. We saw the line forming at the Galaxy for the show, and lined up about 6:15 for the 6:45 show. It did not appear that they were limiting where you could be, but we didn't venture anywhere else to see. Sorry I can't help!

According to the schedule posted by ecmommy Twas the night before Christmas show starts at 6:45. This leads me to believe that since the park closes at 6pm for regular guests that Tomorrowland must be the pre-party corral. If any one can confirm this it would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know if Jungle Cruise was running for the party this year. The first few years I went to the party it was, but last year it was not.

Thanks in advance for any info,

One week and counting

The crowds in Tomorrowland did not indicate that everyone in the park was there. I think it would have been WAAAAY more packed if it was where everyone had to be.

We went to the party Sunday night. We could not get in before 4:00pm with just the party passes. We tried at 3:30pm but no luck, had to wait until 4 on the dot. At 6:00pm we were told to go to Frontierland and that's where we waited until almost 7:00pm when they opened all of the other areas back up. BTMRR had no waiting, we rode back to back 3 times in a row. No wait for Haunted Mansion or Splash either during the 6-7 time frame.

The Jungle Cruise was not operating, at least not when we went by at 10:00pm or so. The line for the family pics was extremely long in Tomorrowland but almost non-existant in Adventureland. The cookies and hot cocoa were absolutely delicious! The fireworks were beautiful and themed for the holidays.

Everything was just great, right down to the snow on main street! For all those who are going, enjoy! You're in for a very exciting and fun-filled evening! :cool1:
