Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Central 2005

This may seem like a strange question but what exactly are the wristbands for the party made of? Are they likely to break and fall off if the kids play with them (paper? card?) or are they made of sterner stuff?? Just curious to see if it is something we can take home intact as a memory. Thanks

They are plastic. Pretty sturdy. If they make it tight then you'll have to cut it off. If they make it loose then you might be able to get it off without cutting it off.

Question for Mickeys party veterans:
Between Sunday Dec 4 and Tuesday Dec. 6- which night would you imagine would be quieter? We went Tuesday night last year and it was a ZOO. The best part about it was the three hours before the party started.
I was hoping Sunday would not be so bad?
I've made dinner reservations for both nights at CP at 4pm. I think I may wait until Saturday to see what the weather is doing before I decide. The week nights have yet to be sold out so I'm not too worried about that. I would just like it to be, A. Not monsooning and B. Not so crowded I get trampled like last year. ;)

We are planning on spending the day at MK on the 13th and then go back to the room for a nap and then head back for the party. When should we plan to be back at the park? I want to be able to get our wristbands and be there for the very beginning of the party.

Thanks,

Hey! We will be there the same night! I think it starts at 9 and goes to midnight. You just have to pick up a wristband so you don't get kicked out of the park! I am sure if you have a wristband you just stay in the park (?)

I am hoping for a lighter crowd than what has been described, that's why I picked the Tues night..

Have a great time

We are going Tuesday as well for that very reason. I was hoping for ligher crowd than a weekend. I figured Sunday night would draw more FL residents. I was also tempted by the AP discount to go on that night, but I figured that would draw big crowds espically with locals.

Just bought our tickets for 12/4.... I can't wait! Our WHOLE family (including grumpy husband) is looking forward to this trip and MVMCP!

In case you missed the begining of this thread. MVMCP starts at 7:00 and goes to midnight... but they say you can your wrist band and get in as early as 4:00. :goodvibes

NEED HELP.. Never gone to MVMCP. Kids are 5 and 11. 11YR OLD IS HANDICAPPED, wheelchair. Should we go Sun Nov 27th, which is one of our MK days already? (Late start day.) Or Thurs Dec 1st? Which also is a MK day with a 8:00 am CP adr. I dont want my son is his w/c all day. Staying offsite on those days. I'm so confused. We were not going to do this but I really want me kids to enjoy it. Santa and all. Is Sunday Nov 27th that bad? Busy?
We also have a AK day on Fri. Which is usually an early day for us. MY kids get bored there. But I know fri is usually a packed night. Can't handle a completely packed night w/ my son. He will not handle that well. HELP PLEASE.. I'll listen to all advice. Thanks everyone

Did you know you only need your MVMCP ticket to get in? You don't need to use a day off your regular park ticket. We plan on sleeping in that day then visiting a few resorts around MK to see the Christmas decorations before we go to MVMCP. You can enter on your party ticket anytime after 4:00. I think Thur. or Sun. would be fine, but since you already have an ADR on Thur. I'd go on Sun.

Thank you so much. Thats what we're going to do. I did know I did not need to pay twice, but we had already planned that day. But now we're gonna hang all day and than go at 4:00. Thanks again.

Hi. We went to last year's party and we'll be there again this year. Need some advice about how to get the t-shirts. Last year they were sold out very early. Where are they sold? When do they go on sale - 4:00 or 7:00?

We were so upset that we weren't able to get any last year. And, I found the overall Disney Xmas shirt offerings to be lacking all over WDW - all the kids XMas t's had Stitch on them and that was it. So, this year I'm determined to get the MVMCP shirts if I have to stand in line hours ahead of time!

Thanks

I dont recall anything inside the masion being decorated. I believe their was somestuff on the outside entrance gate but that was it.

They have the t-shirts in the stores on Main Street last year. They have moving cards they pull out in the middle of the store.

Sorry if this has been asked. The MK closes at 6:00pm? Do they still have Specto, the other parade and Wishes for people not going to the party? I dont know if it would even be dark before 6p? TIA

We are not going till 2006 but planing is half the fun!

If you look on http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/hours.htm
you can see the park hours for your trip. It depends, some nights Magic Kingdom will be open later. Spectro and Wishes only runs on some nights, not all of them. You just have to plan to be in Magic Kingdom those nights for the shows that you want to see. :)

The MVMCP is awesome. This year 12/2 will be my 3rd year - since living in Orlando. It's a tradition with my sister who vacations at WDW every year the day after Thanksgiving for 10 days with a friend, whose son also lives here. This year my mother will be her visiting with me as well, so it will be a family thing. The merchandise for the parties goes on sale at 7pm. They close the park down at 6pm - if you are staying for the party you get your wrist band, and they send everyone toward one of the "Lands" - everything is pretty much closed with the exception of a few things in that area (we just went through it for the NSSHP). They have a special parade complete with "snow" and Santa - and it's just an all around good time - don't forget to get your "free" picture. It's a nice souvenier.

The Sunday after Thanksgiving is sometimes still crowded - but during the week will be better. It always amazes me how busy the parks are for any special event- even when we think kids should be in school - there are so many international travelers - my last couple day trips it seemed like every one was British!

Have a great trip!

Does anyone know if the Haunted Mansion is decorated for Christmas?

I know they haven't in the past, but I do remember reading a rumor that this year they might be decorating it like they do at Disneyland (and I am clueless about DL, so I didn't even know they did this there) with Nightmare Before Christmas stuff and special music (which I have heard on Subsonic Radio). It would fit with the 50yr celebration...Maybe it's on the New & Rumors Board? :confused3

No Spectro or Wishes at park closing on party nights.

If it's done the same as previous years (and as MNSSHP this year), you can enter the park at 4:00 p.m. with your MVMCP ticket. You'll be able to go anywhere in the park until 6:00 when it closes. Then all but one or two of the "lands" will close until the party officially starts at 7:00 p.m.
