Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Central 2005

If you want a sit down meal, you should decide soon as most of the restaurants at Magic Kingdom and surrounding resorts are getting booked up.

November 29 is my 40th birthday too! I've been planning this trip since last year when I realized MVMCP would probably fall on my birthday!!

We are eating at the Castle for dinner at 5:40p. I like to eat while the park is closed and getting set up for the party. LTT is probably booked solid. You could also try Tony's or the Plaza. Or you could try one of the monorail restaurants.

I will also order a cake!

Congrats to your DH! :cake:

: pug: We will be at our first :) MVMCP on Tues., Nov. 29. This is our third trip to WDW, but our first during the holiday season. This day will also be my DH's 40th :earseek: birthday. I want to have a birthday dinner and cake, but I am afraid we won't be able to do and see everything. Any suggestions?

When you say the park is closed, setting up for the party...do you mean that there is nothing you can ride between 4 and 6? Excuse my ignorance, I'm a MVMCP first timer. Thanks :)

No problem! The park closes only for an hour from 6:00p to 7:00p to clear out the park of non-party goers and to set up. For that one hour only Tomorrowland is open for rides. YOu can also get your souvenir photo taken there and see the Xmas show there while you wait for the rest of the park to open.

During that hour, many people prefer to eat rather then be stuck in Tomorrowland.

Hope this helps.

OK, I think this has probably been asked a million times, so please forgive me.

But..... if you go to have the x-mas photo done, and you have three people in the family each with a MVMCP ticket (obviously), does that mean you can have 3 different POSES taken or does it just mean you get 3 copies of one pose?

Yes the restaurants are open during those nights. Liberty Tree Tavern, Crystal Palace & Cinderella's Gallah Dinner. They are just hard to get if you don't call right away.

No you don't have to be at the gates exactly when they open. You have the ticket come when you are ready. Just depends on which shows and parade time you care to see.

We always have alot of fun nothing like the spirit of Disney mixed with Christmas.

Three copies of the same pose.
Last year, the photo people told us each person can only be in one picture. I don't really see where it makes a difference. :confused3
My DH and I wanted a pic of just the two of us, as it was the night before our wedding, but we also wanted one with family. They told us we couldn't do both. I should have pulled the "I'm going to be a Disney bride tomorrow" to see if they would have done it then. :)
How would they monitor that if you go to different photo stations? Then again, who wants to wait in those lines at different locations three times?

Regarding poses/photos...

Last year to know if you already had your FREE photo taken, they marked the back of our tickets.

When you enter the line, they will ask you how many tickets you have and how many address you want them sent to and they wil give you a form to fill out while you wait. You fill one form if you want all copies to go to one address, two forms if you want 2 to go to one address and 2 to go to another address and so on.

I totally understand why they only want you to take one POSE per party as the lines are so long as it is so taking more then one pose of a group takes more time.

A few have reported being able to take more then one pose but that is rare and depends on the CMs working I guess.

Thanks for the info! I don't recall my ticket being marked last year, but I was so tired by the time we took our pic, all I could think of was "bed"!
We took our photos around 11:00 and there was a very small line, around three minute wait, in Timekeeper (hint to those looking for not standing in line). In fact, my future in-laws were walking up to take their pic when my DH and I were done one nook over, and the CMs still wouldn't let us take a pic with them. Oh well. C'est la vie!

The marking of our ticket could also be something that depends on the CMs working. They marked our tickets at the Adventureland location.

Marking it to show we've had our picture done is better then taking our tickets. That would stink! I like having it as a souvenir.

I didn't have any problems last year getting pictures. My mom was with us and we took one with all of us and one with just me and my girls and one with just the girls. It is one picture per so it shouldnt matter how many people ar ein it. I got picture last year 2nd week of December In the Hall of Presidents Building.

Been to the park many, many times, but this will be my first MVMCP! I'm going on 12/11, which happens to be my 45th Birthday! Was wondering if it snows all night or only at certain times?

It snows on Main Street all night long.

(It is actually looks like very tiny minute bubbles when you look close.)

missymagic, it looks like you go every year in December. What are some of the must sees around the world at this time of year?

Can anyone advise where you get the pins from for mvmcp. Is there a special one available on the night so to speak or a general one that you can get anywhere anytime.

You can only get the pins on the night of the party. That is a mistake I made years ago thinking I would get them the next day. NOPE MVMCP shirts, hats, pins & other items are ONLY brought out during the party.

You can buy regular Disney Christmas Pins anytime but not the MVMCP. Need to find a Fairy Godmother that is going to get you one if you won't be in Disney.

When you walk into the park the City Hall building is on your right they are available only the evening of your party. I think each guest is able to purchase 2 or 3. Needless to say that in 2004 my daughter fell asleep on us and we figured we would pick up our pins the next morning, but unfortunately they were sold out. They are different for each night. I was able to purchase one on EBAY when we got home.

I was told my a CM that they only sell 2000 tickets for each night of the MVMCP. It never seems crowded and we basically walked up to all the rides without waiting in lines.

Actually City Hall is on the left, if you're entering the park, it would be on the right as you leave. This will be our first MVMCP, we've done Halloween, but didn't know at the time they had special merchandise. Thanks for the info you guys!

AuntPatti: We'll be there on the 11th too, it's my dd's 6th birthday! Hope you have a great time and a magical birthday!

Thinking about doing the MVMCP on Dec 13 with fam of 6. Is the time allotted for MVMCP enough time to ride most of the attractions at MAgic Kingdom or would you do Magic Kingdom & MVMCP separately

I would do MK one day outside of MVMCP. You could get almost all the rides in during one MVMCP, but there are many activities outside of that you might want to catch, such as the parade and shows that cannot be seen during normal park hours.
