If you do not have park tickets and you are only using your MVMCP tickets to gain access to the park, How early can you enter the gates?

4pm is what most people report.

According to Disney, I think 7pm. Most people for several years have been let in starting at 4, though and then put in Tomorrowland (or wherever they corral people) from 6-7. :goodvibes

Just FYI to anyone thinking of doing this..............Disney is no longer (if they ever did) doing this.

Yes, they certainly did. Only to those who were willing to stand in the rain at Guest Services asking for a different night or a refund. In this situation it rained so bad there was no parade, no shows and no fireworks.

Of course, they may not do it anymore, but they did in the past.

:confused3 I have a dilemma: Do we take a short trip during DDs winter break from school starting Dec. 16, staying until Dec. 21 (A busy holiday season starts that Thursday). We attend MVMCP but the trip would be rushed not to mention each DD has team practice for hockey and basketball.
-OR-
Do we wait until spring break at the end of March and stay longer, up to 10 days. The crowds will be larger but that doesn't bother us much. DM would like to go with us but only if we go in March.

DW & one DD insist that if we go in December then we have to go elsewhere for spring break. Myself and the other DD would love to go both times.

Any feedback would be helpful. Thank you.

If you are only going to go one or the other (although I agree, both times would be ideal ;)) then I would pick March. We're taking a 5 day trip in December (1 shorter than your possible length) and it's soooooooo rushed. I would prefer to go 10 days, even if it means waiting a little longer to go and then a little heavier crowds. Like you mentioned, the crowds will pick up halfway through the December dates anyway.

Good luck, and have fun wherever you decide to go!

Just to make sure I understand...if the weather is expected to be lousy on the date we originally have scheduled (Dec. 13th) I can exchange the tix @ Guest Relations before the party starts.

Can I stop @ Guest Services (on the 10th or 11th & move the actual date up to Dec. 11th) if there's availability?

I've never heard of anyone having luck doing that. What I have heard is if you are at the party and the parade, fireworks, shows are canceled due to rain, on your way out you can try and exchange them for another night.

Of course, it can't hurt to try.

This may be somewhere in this thread, but......

When do they begin selling the MVMCP shirts? If you go early (4pm) are they available then, or only once the party begins? Are they found only at the Emporium, or are they in other places as well? Also, someone mentioned something about light-up necklaces...are these just the glo necklaces that you can get anywhere or is there something special and 'disney themed' ?

Thanks!

When we went last year they did not have the MVMCP Shirts out until about 7pm. We asked and they told us they usually put them out right before the party starts. Hope this helps!!

When I purchased my tickets back in June, the CM explained to me that I could trade my ticket in for another date as long as there was availability for the new date.

So, if you've decided you'd rather go on the 12/11 instead of 12/13 (and there's still availability on the 11th) you should be able to trade in your tickets...unless this is another case of one CM saying one thing and the reality being different. June was a long time ago.

Thanks for the info...I was going to try to purchase ahead of time, but at least now I know! :flower:

True, often pays to ask the same question more than once (posed to different CM's)...love this thread - so helpful for 1st timers.

We went last year -- it was the best night of our entire 10 day vacation at Disney! In the pavillion behind Dumbo they had a DJ playing music, kids were dancing with characters, it was wonderful! My dd's got to hula hoop with Chip and Dale. We are going back this year and this was the one thing they specifically asked to do again!

We are first timers going from Nov.26-Dec.3.

Do we need to buy a day pass plus a party pass?

Thanks
The party ticket alone will get you into MK starting at around 4:00pm.

Is there any word yet on which dates are sold out??
This is a good question. Does anyone know the answer?

Has anyone tried buying tickets for a specific date and told it's sold out already?

We are going with our 2 year old son. We are not sure which parks to go to yet and how many days we will need but I think MK is one of the places that is recommended for young kids.

So if we are going to MK anyway and have a day ticket is it still usual hours including the Christmas Party?

Also, any ideas and recommendations for us going with a 2 year old such as # of days you would recommend and what parks for a 2 Year Old.

Thanks
