I agree too. The VMCP is so much fun, you won't want to miss any of it inside a restaurant. See if you can get an earlier PS at CP or even LTT (cancellations happen there a lot once CP can be booked - we are doing a cx/ there soon ourselves).

I have a question too. We have a PS for either 4:10pm or 5:30pm at CP. The earlier one we are all at 1 table, the later one we're separated. Which one should we keep? How bad/crowded is it between 6 and 7? Would we be better off eating later? I don't want to be too full for the free cookies and cocoa? What do you suggest? I was also a bit scared they may not really let you in early w/ VMCP (even though I know they've done it in the past) and thought the PS would help us get in.

What do you all think?

We're going to attend on 12/16 (ordered our tickets yesterday).

As I understand from this thread and others, we can safely turn up at MK at 4pm or after and gain entry using just our party tickets.

At one point I had thought of getting PS for sometime in the early evening, but lately I've been thinking that we might just pick up something at Cosmic Rays while the park empties out. Is this possible, or will eateries in the Tomorrowland area be totally mobbed?

We have PS for a number of other dates, and I was thinking it might be more efficient and inexpensive to just do a counter service meal for the party.

What do you think?

to follow up on an earlier poster's question about what time it gets dark at WDW in December - for anyone who has attended MVMCP in early December (we're going 12/7), is it dark enough at the 5 PM service to get the full effect? We actually have a dinner package for 6:45 CP, but I'm thinking of changing it to 5 so we can eat later. Will it be dark enough at 5 PM on 12/7 to get the full benefit of the candlelight aspect?

My DW and I plan to be at MVMCP on Thursday, 12/16 if the weather cooperates. We were there for the first time last year and we loved it, especially the fireworks show and the parade! We did everything on the schedule except the cookies and cocoa. This time we will make sure to find these "treats". :D

I just bought my tickets for 12/ 2 (thursday) :cool1: Even better, I was able to use my Disney rewards points for them!! It feels like they were free!

We will be at MVMCP on Fri., Dec 17th with dinner reservations at LTT at 4:30. There is actually a whole group of DISers who will be there that night and then we all leave Sat morning on the 10 day Chrismas cruise.

MVMCP and 10 days on the Magic:bounce: :Pinkbounc :jumping1: :jumping3:

Can you tell I am excited.

Plans have changed and we will be there Dec 2 for the MVMCP. I am not going to order tickets because I don't want to lose the money if plans fall through. We are coming down for son's baseball tournament in Gainesville Dec 3-5. How many of you have ordered tickets already? Do most people just get them once they arrive?

I ordered mine for Nov. 28th already, just because it's the only date we can make. We've never done it before, and I didn't want to take a chance and miss it. Although it seems on these boards that Nov. 28 is not a very popular date. I hope that means it will not be crowded!

I order my ticket - Nov 30 - I will pick it up there - I was told guest services - so I am assuming that this is the mk park entrance and not the t/t where the tickets are sold????

I was told I couldn't get it at guest services at wl - where I am staying.

I'm hoping the same thing! lol

I imagine that there will be a lot of people leaving Sunday from their T'giving week stays to get back to work on Monday, so maybe many will not be at that night's party. But dh and I will be there. My first "snow" ever seen will be on Main Street, how cool is that lol

Well at least we won't be there alone! I hope your theory that people are going home is correct!

I'm hoping the *magic* of MVMCP gets us through one more year of believing in Santa! My DS7's classmates have a couple of different "theories" about this, and he ponders them quite seriously.

See you there! ;)

We have a PS at LTT on Dec 9th at 4:15 and we have tickets for MVMCP that evening. We are debating that since this is our first ever trip to WDW, we should cancel our PS and do counter service so we can buy tickets for a 2nd night at MVMCP.

To get entry into the parks at 4:00 do you have to have a PS?

We thought maybe this might make more sense as our 4 kids are not huge eaters and I have read throughout this forum that it is hard to see everything at MVMCP in one night!

Would this be a "smart" thing to do? Give me any of your thoughts on this as we want to make sure we have a great first experience---Thanks!

I don't know how old your kids are but my children both love the character meals. They don't eat much either espcially since they are so excited. There is something special about eating with the characters and most kids love that. But I would say if you had older children they would be more interested in doing everthing in the park more than eating with characters. My children are young so they really don't know if they are missing something and I love to see their eyes light up when minnie mouse comes to see them at the table. So I would say if you have young children defiently do character meal, if older children eat something on the go so you can fit everything in.

OOPS! Thanks disneyw/kids!
My kids are 18, 15, 8 and 6 (3 boys and 1 girl)--With the ages so spread out it's hard to make the "right"choice!! We are doing a character breakfast at Chef Mickey as well! ::MickeyMo
I just don't want to make a "newbies" error and cancel the PS without knowing for sure! We are on a budget so I was just wondering if LTT was really worth the cost or a second night of MVMCP which would be smarter choice?
I'm getting in to "panic mode" as I want it too be perfect!!!!

I'd give a meal at LTT (especially since you're doing Chef Mickey's) to be able to do 2 MVMCPs!!

Dining question for experienced MVMCPers

Drewc - we'll be there on the 16th as well! We attended Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party last year and did just as you suggested and ate at Cosmic Ray's around 430 - it wasn't too crowded and we just hung out in Tomorrowland once we finished eating and went for our photo right off the bat. My understanding from what I've read here is that MVMCP should be similar so I think you'll be OK at Cosmic Ray's. We opted for PS at Crystal Palace only because youngest DS is a Tigger fan and we haven't been to CP for a while.

Good luck and enjoy the party!

Hi all - I could use some advice. My 11-year-old daughter and I will be at WDW from Dec. 1-5 (arriving 10 p.m. 12/1), which means Thursday Dec. 2 and Friday Dec. 3 are options for MVMCP. I'd rather go Friday to give ourselves a break from staying up late, but from what I've read, would Friday likely be noticably more crowded than Thursday?

Any advice would be appreciated!
