Can not believe the cost of the Mickey's Very Merriest after hours. Talk about money grabs. For what is offered (even with the full parade) cost should be about. one-half of what it is or maybe a signature dining at Be Our Guest should be included. Wife and I have been annual Christmas visitors to WDW for over 10 years and have never decided not to do something due to cost, but this is certainly a first for us! I am afraid we are rapidly reaching the decision point that WDW may not be worth the ever increasing costs!

Yes, I understand what you're saying. And yet based on how quickly the Boo Bash sold tickets at very expensive levels, there's no reason to not think they'll sell out many of the Christmas nights at these even higher prices. Supply and demand - and demand for Disney magic is extremely high. People will pay for the event....

The Christmas Party is an After Hours party with far fewer guests in the park. Part of the reason for the high price tag but, people are willing to pay it so Disney is going to charge it.

Like you, I was priced out of parties a couple of years ago. For what you get, just cannot justify it for our family.

But is it sustainable? Or is it 'go once'?

We used to do the after hour parties on a regular basis. It was worth it to have cooler temps and shorter lines. It's reached the tipping point for us - just like Disney cruises did a few years ago. It just doesn't make sense for us any longer when taking the family would be up to $1000 for 3 hours in a park.

Wouldn't it be nice if enough visitors said enough is enough no way is 4-6 extra hours in the park worth well ovet $200 and the event did not sell out? But you all are correct, enough people will pay and dates will sell out!

At first the prices shocked me. Then after looking through all the details (2 sets of fireworks that night, parade, longer, etc) I realized it's actually a better value than Boo Bash... and we bought those lol.

We've done many WDW trips without buying upsell components and still had a blast and filled our days with excitement. That's the thing... nobody needs to buy these tickets. The times we did parties usually we'd drop one component of our trip to add it, like hoppers or an expensive ADR. Other times we passed altogether and survived with zero regrets.

10s of millions of people come through WDW every year. Everybody can't do everything. It's OK not to attend.

While the price is a bit higher than I expected, it's not too far off from what I thought. We paid $129 a few years ago for MK After Hours and that was without extra fireworks, a parade or the Christmas overlays.

Sadly our family of four are priced out. We can only go 21st December so can’t justify a $1000 + tax for a few hours 😞
We’re not far off cancelling our entire Christmas trip as were now getting less value for money 😞

Can not believe tickets are non refundable even if the event is canceled. So says the WDW website. I understand if I buy a ticket and then don't go based on my decision the no refund. But if the event is canceled because of a WDW decision, seems to me this is an unethical money grab on the part of WDW!
