Mickey's Space Ship Shuttle

They could be a completely reliable, legit, responsible company; however, their website makes it hard to reserve with them.

It's such a jumbled mess you wonder if this reflects on the company. It kinda has to in some way.

Every few months someone stumbles upon them and posts a similar thread such as yours. Their web site says all i need to know from a company i am hiring to safely deliver me from point A to point B. An it is not as if it's just a typo that recent happened and hasnt gotten fixed. It has been like that for YEARS. As a So Cal resident, I had never heard of them my entire life until fist reading about them here (in a post similar to yours).

There are so many other reputable & well-known shuttle companies in So. Cal., I cannot possibly suggest using this company.

Try Super Shuttle or PrimeTime Shuttle.

Or Karmel, they have been in the business for providing shuttle service for many years now, I believe it is 20 if not longer.

That hurts to scroll through! I do love their conviction on saving you from the swine flu though ;)

Wow, that site is really something else. The whole thing seems like the deranged ramblings of someone with a serious mental illness. In addition to their dedication to swine flu prevention, you have to admire a shuttle bus company that promotes itself by posting photos of burned out shuttle buses on their own web site.

So.....has anyone actually booked before with them? Traveled on one of their shuttles?

Even their name sounds odd. Like some kind of weird mushroom trip or something man!

:faint:

I feel like just because a company does their own website and is probably a family or some hard working immigrants who don't have perfect spelling - isn't a reason not to check them out or try them.

If they don't have any BBB complaints and do a good job, why not support the local small guy?

Plus SuperShuttle doesn't pay their franchisee's very well if you Google "SuperShuttle drivers say they face tough times under firm’s franchise system"

Just my 2 cents...

It's more than just the homemade website and misspellings. I think showing the burned buses of your competitor over and over again speaks to some character too.

My family's safety comes first, so I'll stick to companies that have a proven reputation, but maybe you can report back on your experience if you use them next time.

For me, it's the fact that the link to their Trip Advisor comments take you to a thread called "Is Mickey's Space Shuttle for real?"

Well maybe they are some kind of urban myth or legend of a transportational kind?
Hm.....

Yes yes and yes.

It says everything about the company.

Of course it's a good reason. Since the late 90s we've been in the land of websites, and if you're going to have a website, make it a good one. They haven't. A huge mess of outdated jumble? No. Take the site down or fix it.

When we were planning our wedding (planning started in '01) I had one rule. If you have a website, it had better be a good one. If it was ridiculous, you were taken off the list. Period.

If it were their first year in business, while I wouldn't use them, I would understand. But this is well beyond one year.

I've never heard or seen them when in LA. Had great experienced with prime time and super shuttle.

I actually have used Mickey's Space Shuttle. It was about 10 years ago and out only excuse is that we were young and the money exchange rate was bad so price was a big issue. We hadn't seen the website and I can't remember how we came to hear about them. On a positive note, they did come and pick us up and dropped us off at the airport on time. The van was dented and old and dirty and the ride was scary. If it came down to a choice of using them again or walking to LAX.....we'd walk!:scared:

Well there we go! Website does in fact match the service.

I'm thinking they know the route to get me intuch with mi long lost unkil from Zimbabwe so I can git my inhairitense

I see their vans around Anaheim and their owner had the company for sale for $3 million on Craiglist. I have met him and some of his drivers and they seem like nice people but, I would probably rank suggestions from LAX in this order:

Karmel Shuttle

Prime Time Shuttle

and, if you must... Super Shuttle.

I've had very negative personal experiences (1 then I gave them one more chance - which was a mistake) so, I don't ever recommend them.

One other thing to remember is, if you are travelling with a larger group - more than 3, the cost for a taxi will be comparable to shuttle costs. If it's $18 - $20 per person, one way, a flat rate taxi will probably be $70-75 depending on the time of day so, I would do that...

Hope that helps!

Tom

I guess I'll be a little out numbered with the general consensus but we have used Mickey's shuttle many many times. A couple of the vans we have been in were older but seemed well maintained. They have some newer vans as well. Every experience was top notch. On time and the ride was the same as any other. I like that we actually get to talk with our driver and select a time and have a number to call and a real person to speak with. Yes the website is questionable to promote yourself by slashing others. But I have been suckered by a good website and terrible service so I try not to give websites too much consideration. I found Mickey's space ship shuttle to be on time, reliable, safe and courteous. I feel like telling Mickey to dump his website. It's not his thing.

I was reading the DIS yesterday when this thread was just started. I went to the Mickey's SSS website and SERIOUSLY thought it was a hoax. I imagined that it was some type of social experiment to see how many people would actually respond to such a pathetic web site. -did you look at it all the way down? At one point it says "Believe us when we lie to you." !!!! For reals! I am amazed to discover that there are real people who have actually utilized them. :confused3 Oh what a crazy world we live in :)

Last Disneylnd trip we opted for the big bus (forget what it was called. Disney Express?). We waited and WAITED for that thing at LAX. In the meantime we saw tons of those Mickey's Space Shuttle vans come and go, and remember regretting not using them. Not sure how good they are, but they did seem very prompt and showed up a the airports frequently.
