Hi lovely California vacationers! :wave2:

DH will be arriving at LAX in just 16 short days for a 4-day stay at the DL Hotel (first time staying on site!). We are going with a friend and her parents and we can't wait to see the new Cars Land!

So here is my question...

My friend recommended that we make a reservation for the Mickey's Space Ship Shuttle from LAX to the hotel. She told us not to be afraid of the *awesome* website :). I was curious if anyone here had used this shuttle service or if we would be better off doing something more mainstream (like the Disneyland Resort Express). We arrive around 10:00am on 10/20 and our flight leaves at 7:30pm on 10/23. I'm also curious what time we should plan to catch a shuttle back to the airpott.

Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

Ha ha ha....

I'm guessing from the lack of replies that the answer is "no".....

I'm thinking we may just do Disneyland Resort Express.. :)

Interesting. I haven't heard of them. How much can it cost to hire a high school kid to design your website though? Lol. They could have the best service in the world but that site doesn't inspire confidence.

We are experimenting with Karmel shuttle tonight which is new to us so I'm a bit nervous

I'll be sure to let you know if I see the spaceship at the airport tonight. ;)

I don't have a ton of respect for a business that cannot use spell check... sorry! Also, I would be very wary of the car seats - you don't know if they are crashed, expired, etc.

I've seen them on the road, either by the Disneyland Resort, or by LAX, but I do not know how they work. If it were me, I would either take the DL Express or SuperShuttle.

Yes we have used them a few times. The service was fine. One thing I liked was the personal contact and good communication. We talked to Mickey himself and he has been on time, everytime. He usually takes just one group or family at a time so it very nice not having multiple stops. The van he drives is far from new but all shuttles need to pass safety inpections so we felt safe. Only once we had another of his vans and driver, the van was a little nicer and all was fine again. Mickey was a less expensive option but that's not why we used his service. The reason I like them is when you need a pickup you talk directly to the person who will pick you up. Never any confusion.

We have also used Super Shuttle. A little newer vans. Only negative thing was a late pickup for our return flight. I felt better talking to a real person not an automated system but we caught our flight so in the end all was fine.

Only once used the Big Disneyland Express bus. I will avoid it in the future. Too many stops, the trip took us two hours as we were some of the last passengers off.

We plan to use Mickey again in Nov. & Jan. So far I have no complaints. I have never visited his website but now I'm curious.

Hope that helps. Older van, safe, on time, good communication.

That website is worth a visit, but only if you have some extra time on your hands. Apparently Mickey doesn't believe that less is more and brevity is key when it comes to advertising.

I couldn't pull all the good stuff, but I really had to LOL at this one:

"NOTE: This is important, It is not safe to stay any where in the L.A. or O.C. county area but Anaheim and Beverly hills."

:rolleyes1

The shuttle service may be just fine, the pp has personal experience and is happy with it, so that's good to know. But that website is too much!

It's hard to say what time to head back to the airport OP because that largely depends the type of service you use. You should ask their recommendations, because the answer could be vastly different if you go with a shared shuttle with multiple stops vs a direct service. It's about a 45 minute drive assuming a straight shot and no traffic issues (stop laughing people)

Yikes that Website!! I can't agree more about that crazy website. I have never looked at it. We will be using Mickey's Shuttle service again next month. I think I have to tell him to clean that site up a little. Mickey is a very nice man, maybe a little too chatty, kind of like his site! Lol. The website is not doing him anygood. Having said that, he has been very reliable, safe and on time. I'll just try to stay away from his Website. Oh I have a Mickey story. My sister left a little wallet in his van, he had no choice to go through the wallet to find the owners name. He got in touch with me and informed me he took it to her hotel and told us how much money was in it when he found it just in case there is less when it was returned to her.

I think Mickey's a good guy just needs some help with that website.

I will admit I am fascinated with the site. It's so bad it's good. My favorite part is the photo gallery of other service vans broken down or on fire. Lol.
