Hi everyone!!!! I was looking for my meet thread for this summer as I haven't gotten any updates in a few days, and ran across this thread!!! My first thought when I saw the title was"Who stole our name??" So, I went it to read and saw it was all of you!!!! We're booked on the Aug 18th Med this summer and I CAN'T wait to go!!!!! It's nice to catch up with everyone!!!!!

Hello:thumbsup2

Hope all is well. Philly is rocking tonight as the Flyers are going to the Cup Finals:cool1:

joe,

that's awesome!!! I know how hard it is!

I stepped on the scale today and lost 32 lbs since our cruise!!! (not to steal your thunder)

xoxo,

Way to go Michelle:cool1:

How are you staying disciplined with working so far from home:confused3

Joe

Joe,

It's easy... I walk from Albany to NYC everyday! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

No, seriously... I began dropping the pounds in December when I started working in NYC. I noticed, hey, this isn't bad... walking 16 to 38 blocks a day helps... so do calories posted on menus... i didn't know how much crap I was eating.

It's nice to step on the scale every morning and smile!!

The only problem is my shopping budget... nothing fits and when I do buy new clothes in a few weeks they don't fit. Frustrating, but worth it.

Michele

Anyone check out the Disney Blog today:confused3

It shows a great picture of the Bow being installed on the Dream. It looks like they are full speed ahead.

Now they will start finishing out the interior:thumbsup2

Joe

Michelle and Joe- I am so jealous of you for your weight loss! I keep hoping someone i know will have an affair with a plastic surgeon so I can go in for an overhaul:rotfl:

...It's almost Friday!!!

Congrats Joe!!! Those are big accomplishments, getting the kids graduated and moving on. DD's last day of school is Thursday, till 11 am, not really sure why they torture us with these 1/2 days. Wed is a 1/2 day too. The fun part of the last day is the moving up ceremony where the kids thank their current teacher and let the next year's teacher know they are ready for her/him. Still working on getting on this cruise.

How many of you think that three months of no school is just too long:confused3

Two of the girls have graduated and third had her last day on Friday:scared1:

Now the camps and jobs begin for the rest of the summer. With no cruise on the agenda for this summer, it will be trips to Dallas and Kissimmee with no big plans at either.

What is everyone else doing?

Joe

a young friend was trying to say that they should have 4 months off. I told her that was way too long and if she added all the days they have off during the school year, they were only going to school for 8 months :rotfl2:

We are hanging out at home this year unless something changes. Trying to get a good deal for next mid winter break with kids sail free to Mexican Riveria. Prices went from $1500 to $3200 overnight!!! Gonna keep tryi8ng to see if I can get a cheaper stateroom, back down to $1500 would be great!! It would be me, DD, girl friend and her dd. They have never cruised DCL before. GF and hubby cruise Carnival many years ago and hated it!!! Hoping DCL will be fun for them.

My DMIL did RCL Mexican Riveria in the spring of this year. She said that she would never do it again. While the ports were fine and the weather was warm, she said that the sea days were lousy.

It was so cold and windy that you couldn't go out on the deck. The pool was closed because of the weather and she couldn't use her veranda.

Hello Everyone,

While doing a price check on the cruise, I noticed that at least one inside stateroom is now available.

Hurry, because it will go fast!

Right now, I am looking just as forward to school ending as my kids! I am sick of packing lunches and making sure that all the homework and projects are done!! School ends for us next thursday...then the camps and outings will begin. We will be sticking close to home until 8/12 when we leave for the Hard Rock at Universal! I booked a cabana for our pool day- they told me the one with the best view of the pool slide was the "Stevie Wonder" cabana-
I thought that was pretty funny!!

Stevie Wonder visited my High School year's ago and the students were so excited that they were waiving at his limo:rotfl:

We will be in Florida 8/14 - 8/21. Nothing planned. Just using a leftover timeshare week that we have.

College will start a week later for the oldest DD.

Hello All!

Checking in with my Dis peeps!

School ends next Friday for us. I'm ready to spend the summer with Mikayla and she's so over 2nd grade. LOL.

We joined our country club, again and plan to spend our days by the pool, unless I'm working.

We're getting excited about our vaction. We'll be in WDW August 7 through the 14th. I just bought our airfare, $1100! The most we have ever paid!!! Prices are stupid!! Our Disney payment is due next week, that will hurt! I still have a ton of Disney planning to do!!!

The cruise is paid off. We sail August 14th on Carnival's Dream. Should be interesting. I've done some shopping for resort wear (sounds better than saying Target and Macy's). We're doing the Eastern again, but we love it!! Hopefully Carnival will meet our expectations after years of DCL.

I can't believe so many of us will be in Florida at the same time and won't get to see each other. How sad. Audrey and her clan will be with us at Disney and we're VERY excited about that. Audrey, we have to chat soon!

NYC is great, love the job. Hate the commute. I sound like a broken record. It's suppose to get hot this week, the city stinks, literally, in the summer. I want to hand out soap to the homeless people.

See you on the boards!
Michele

School is over for us this Friday. Poor DS has an Honors Physics final on the very last day of school!! Harsh! (that is a quote :) )

I wish our Summer break lasted 3 months, this year it is more like 9.5 weeks! I can't believe that I just got an invitation to a July 4th party and we aren't even done school yet!

Unfortunately for us, this is a Disney-free year! :( But we'll get to do it up right next year! We'll be doing day trips, and FINALLY visiting the Philadelphia Museum of Art (I've visited the Met, the Guggenheim, a dozen other large museums and living less than an hour from Philly for most of my life - NEVER visited the Art Museum!) Visiting family in New England, and a trip to Williamsburg, and a few Revolutionary battle sites (gotta throw in a little education over the summer - since DS loves history - NOT!).

You will love the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Don't forget to take the shuttle over to the Annex. They have some great art over there too.

I read over the last day or two that they are getting a new food vendor that is very good:thumbsup2

If you ever want to go to the Please Touch Museum (Children's Museum), let me know. I sit on the community board and can get you free tix.
