Mickey's Philharmonic for 2 1/2 yr old

The feat for us was getting DS2.5 to keep his glasses on. But once he figured out that the show was better with them on it was fine. He kept putting them on and takingthem off to see the difference. Lots of fun!

Dd hated it when she was a few days shy of turning 3. The moment she started crying I took her out of the theater and then we just waited for dh to come out.

When she turned 4 she decided to try it again, and even if it is definetly not her favorite attraction, she sat through the entire presentation.

We were close to the exit in case she wanted to leave, and I think that just having the peace of mind of knowing that we would leave if she didn´t like it, helped her through the movie.

Now, I am sure that A Bug´s Life and Honey I Shrunk the Audience will terrify her, that is why we have stuck with the Muppets and Philarmagic for now.

My girls (5, 1.5) surprised me and both LOVED it! In fact we saw it two times in a row, since it was a slow day. My older one scares easily, and we definitely did NOT take her to Honey I Shrunk the Audience or Bug's Life. I know those would have terrified her.

Back to Mickey's Philharmagic - I have a lazy eye, and don't really have any vision in it - so I couldn't see the 3D effects. I was so sad!:sad2:

I would go it's a and awesome 3d movie and very kid friendly nothing scary. My DS2 loved it and he is scared of everything ;)

My DS was almost 4 and hated it. He said he was scared all those things were going to poke him in the face. Its been almost five months and he still brings it up every now and then....
Its really cool, though. The rest of us loved it. Maybe I can get him to close his eyes next time!!!!
He also hated most of the other rides, though. We went to all four parks and I think the caraousel was the only one he actually WANTED to ride. We had to strongly ENCOURAGE getting on Its A Small World! So, maybe try some different stuff first and see how adventurous yours is.

I think the things flying around freaked him out, and like everyone else said, it's LOUD. After a few minutes he took the glasses off, but kept asking what was wrong with the movie. He also wanted to know where Mickey was since I told him (never having seen it) it was a Mickey show.

He was not crying or screaming or anything, just noticably uncomfortable. We saw it during pm EHM (or maybe MNSSHP??) and the theater was very empty, so we could have run for the exits if we needed to.

We're going back in May and he already told me no Donald Duck movie.

DS8 doesn't like it, but DD4 doesn't mind it and we've been seeing it annually since it opened. DS8 just doesn't like 3D movies. He wont' even go to Imax movies if they're 3D. When DD4 was 2 yrs, she wore her glasses upside down b/c the glasses wouldn't stay on her face.

Here's her pic: She's actually got them the right way right before the show started!

The sitting by the exit was a good idea - I would also sit toward the back. For me, anyway, it doesn't seem to be so overpowering with some distance between me and the screen(s). (The dodging flying carpet portion makes me nauseous if I sit too close.)

My DS3 did not like ANY of the 3d shows we took him to. Just a little too loud and the 3d part was kind of new to him. We took him to the Philharmonic and he did not like it. My dh ended up holding him and covering his ears until it was over.

My son's biggest problems with that ride were keeping the glasses on. WDW should really make 3D glasses to fit toddlers.

I don't remember anything scary about the ride itself.
