Mickey's PhilharMagic - worth an extra day to see?

I am with everyone else - Philharmagic is awesome. The best (by far) of the 3-D movies. Just brilliant in it's use of multiple character's across numerous Disney films and weaving it all together. Great 3-D effects. It always makes my top-10 list of things to do. I would say if you don't mind the extra $$ to stay an extra day...do it!

We are going to visit the MK one extra time before we go home.

i am still praying that when i we walk into fantasyland on Friday Feb 6th -
Mickey's PhilharMagic will be open :cool1: but if my dreams do not come true, we will be back that next week to see it several times :flower3: (It's one of my top 10) before we go back home.

If I wasn't sure there would ever be another trip to WDW, then YES, I would absolutely stay an extra day to see Mickey's Philharmagic. It really is cute, even DH likes it and tries to make sure we see it at least once every visit. I hope you and your boys have a great trip! :thumbsup2

Friday the 6th is supposed to be our last day, but it appears I will be adding an extra day so we can go back and see Mickey's PhilharMagic on Saturday (we're from Wisconsin too, and I'm in no hurry to get back to this cold and snow!). Is it really possible they'll reopen it early? Maybe I should wait to add the extra day to our tickets until the 6th - can I do that?

Thanks, I am so excited I can hardly stand it! 10 days and counting :cheer2:

My favorite attraction at Disney. If it isn't too much money to stay over another night go ahead if you are getting another full day at the park.

Hi......:offtopic: but when do you leave?
on the bright side, Winter is half over now :crazy2: it can only get better from now on.
I cannot help with the ticket question........
i found the rehab dates from allearsnet, and it say it's closed from January 18th - February 6th, so i am not sure if it "opens" that day or the next day Saturday the 7th? ( sorry if that is confusing you)
mabye someone with more park know hows could help us ::yes::

anyways.....i still agree, stay that extra day to take in the MK and Mickey's PhilharMagic - it's well worth it!
Have a great trip!! :beach: :wave2:

You never know- it may open early. I saw the new Pirates 2 days before its official, announced opening. The times board at the front of the park still listed it as closed, but when we went to Adventureland there were CM's letting people in. I was thrilled because we would have missed it otherwise.

Mickey's Philharmagic is my most favorite 4D attraction. We see it several times each time we visit. If all you have to pay is $12, then of course I would do that. :) If you had to pay for hotel, I would say no.

I think you will not have a problem adding a day as late as the day before as long as the ticket is still active. But I would check with guest relations at the beginning of your trip to make sure.

Even if for some reason Philharmagic doesn't open as scheduled, it seems like a good idea to stay that extra night to make for a safe journey home.

BTW, Philharmagic is my favorite fantasyland ride. I'm going to miss it on my next trip (5 days away:cool1: ) and I am a childless 40+ yr old.

If at all possible, don't miss it.

Mickey's Philharmagic is a top attraction for everyone in my family even my DH. Compared to the other 3D shows this one is very tame. It hasn't scared any of my children. I have heard other kids that were crying, though. Try the Muppets at DHS. It is comparable. It's Tough to be a Bug (AK) and Honey, I Shrunk...(EP) are scary for some adults.

:goodvibes I agree with every single comment here! My dh actually begs to see it every time we're at the MK. My boys love it, and they've been the last two years. They will be 4 and 6 on our next trip, which means your two should definitely handle it.

I know their cousin has gotten a little scared in the Muppet presentation, but we couldn't figure out exactly what set her off... she is a little on the extra sensitive side, and she was really tired at the time, so that might have had something to do with it.

The Bug show in AK is one dh and I don't care for... and the Honey, I Shrunk show in Epcot is worth seeing for older children, but even that one gets me a little scared. Don't try those for several years.

Mickey's Philharmagic will remain our favorite of these shows! I will warn you, however, that you will get hungry and may start to drool during the "Be Our Guest" scene!

It's great! It scared my kids when they were under 5 (note that one still is under 5), but they still loved it. They just didn't like the water and air being blown on them plus a couple dark scenes. We just have them sit on our lap and not use the glasses if they are scared. My oldest is no longer scared of the attraction and loves it all the way now. Youngest likes it, but is cautious of the "scary" parts.

I didn't read the whole thread so someone else may have been a gloomy gus too but...don't count on it opening the day it says it will :(

We were in line for Country Bears our very last day on our last trip, the day it was set to reopen after a lengthy rehab, and finally a CM came out and told us (there were a lot of us there at opening time waiting patiently!) that they were sorry but it wasn't done so it would not be opening after all that day. We were disappointed, but at least we hadn't stayed an extra day for it.

So basically..I'd say don't get the kids real excited over it in case it doesn't open on time, but an extra day is a bonus and there's plenty to do even if you don't see Philharmagic. It is definitely one of our favorites and a do not miss for us so I was disappointed to see it will be closed for part of our trip. Here's hoping it opens on time! :thumbsup2

It's a must do for us with every trip. Deffinately worth doing another day if at all possible for you.
