Hi Guys! Everyone having a good weekend?!
Friday, we went to Six Flags with our friends from college. One of them gets enough free tickets for all of us to go. This will seem strange probably to this lot, but Warren and I don't really like amusement parks. But, free is good (minus the 20.00 to park), we get to see our out-of-state friends, and all our children have a good time.
I stuck to my desert ban and didn't eat any ice cream, funnel cake, or cotton candy
That's all the fun to be had this weekend. Since we have out-of-state guests (including my mother) all next week, it seemed like a good time to not only clean, mow and freshen up the place but to do some of the painting we should have done almost 2 years ago when we moved in.
We leave for the airport in
10 DAYS!! I'll probably spend the next week packing up my stuff for the move, and packing up for our vacation! On top of that, I have to move office a week on Monday so I'll also be packing up my office - a whole lotta packing!
Wow! You have a lot to do in 10 days! Been there, done that. Since being married, we have moved 8 times. Only the last three involved our children, though. Most recently, we moved from the city to further out in the county to another state and back to our home state in four years time. For two of those moves, my husband was working in a different state during the week and came home on the weekends.
Moving and Cruising: After only living in our house for two years, my husband's company moved us from Maryland to New Jersey. We found the house we intended to buy in NJ, and the owner and his wife begged us to put a contract on the house as soon as possible because they were leaving for a cruise in a week's time and wanted the anxiety of having a house to sell off their shoulders before they left. There were no complications, so we did, and they left for their cruise with a heavy load off their shoulders.
We really felt bad for these people because they had a terrible selling agent and it took over a year to sell the house. At that time, we had never been on a cruise, hadn't planned on booking one, and had no idea we would wind up in the same situation two years later. Sure enough, two years later, almost to the day (due to another career motivated move), we were in their shoes selling the same house, having serious buyers and having a
Disney cruise scheduled in the two weeks time. Thankfully, we had not had the house on the market nearly as long, and thankfully, our serious buyers also put a contract on the house immediately, and we were able to leave on our cruise unburdened.
We're coming up on our 2 year anniversary on moving back to Maryland, but we have no intentions of moving or selling this house. I'm so tired of moving, we started out renting this house and bought it so we wouldn't have to think about moving again.
