Mary - sorry to hear you are sick :( I hope you get better really soon, being sick is no fun! I'm not too sure what 5th disease is, but hoping it's not too serious!

Thank you everyone for the well wishes! Baby is still in the special care baby unit at the moment, but hopefully he'll be out soon! I'm going to see my aunt at lunchtime.

My little cousin (the 3yr old) was 8lb 15oz when he was born a week overdue, and I was born 8lb 10.5oz 10 days overdue - I think big babies run in our family (NOT looking forward to that when I have kids of my own!!) - Speaking of babies, one of my friends just gave birth to her first, he was a week overdue and weighed a whopping 9lb 13oz!!!!! It just made me 'ouch' thinking about it!

I'm also getting together some ideas for the extenders :)

Hayley,

My 'baby' (our youngest) Tyler weighed 11lb 2oz at birth (naturally). Doc induced me at 10 days late hoping to not be over 10lb's. He was off a little, lol. He held up my baby and didn't say 'it's a boy', no he said "I'd skip the newborn and go right for the 3-6 month clothes!"

Needless to say, at about 6 months he slowed down and in high school was barely on the growth chart he was so small (testing proved he was just a late bloomer) and finally grew over the past year to 18 months! Now all my kdis are taller than me!

I was thinking that DCL is pretty cool to let people put stuff on their doors and hang things off of their fish. I can't see hotels letting people do that. In college, we had to stop decorating the outsides of our dorm rooms because supposedly it was a fire hazard. :confused3

I went to an Art school and as you can imagine with a bunch of artists, we had every window and door decorated! I think when they moved our dorm we were told we couldn't paint the doors but we found plenty of ways to express ourselves! :)

I'm off again flying this weekend. I have to go pick Christopher up in Portland. I'll be home Wed and catch up w/ all of you then. Have a great weekend!

Dawn,

Have a safe trip!

:scared1: wow:scared1: on the baby weights! My largest was 7lbs 11oz and that was plenty big enough for me! My twins were born 10 weeks 1 day early and weighed in at 3lbs 10oz and 2 lbs 11oz. They spent 6 weeks in the NICU but, show no effects from that now. The medical advances for premmies in the last 10-15 years are amazing.

Feeling much better now thank you. I am still a little sore at the knees and elbows but, I am getting there.

How is the doggie doing?

Glad you are feeling better Mary. Abbey is doing better. It's been a couple of rough days. I had to take her back to the vet yesterday because we noticed a hazy section of her eye. Thankfully that is normal, actually a bruise that will go away. They checked her out and were very pleased with
her progress. She goes back Tuesday for another recheck. But, in the meantime, she started getting sick (throwing up) so we stopped her antibiotic for two days, hoping it was just making her tummy upset, but in the meantime, she wasn't eating properly (hardly at all) so we had to adjust her insulin and NOW another trip (this time the regular vet) to confirme what I thought, her sugars are HIGH again. She's been stable for about two months, but we knew she could get a little out of whack from the surgery, so they said to wait a couple more days and if she's still drinking a lot they will recheck her. But for now, she's doing really well! She's acting herself, so happy and such bright eyes. I'd take a photo to share, but she's sleeping (which she does most of the day, lol).

Hope you all had a nice Saturday! We jsut had some nasty storms come through here (which I guess I hadn't been paying attention to the weather so I was not prepared, lol). My sis and I took our father out to brunch this am and tomorrow we'll go take my 'dad' lunch (we grew up with our 'real' father and our 'dad' who is our stepfather, but has always been just as much or more of a dad to us). Wishing all the dads a happy day tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Mary, glad you are feeling better now! And that your little ones are okay of course!

I'm glad little Abbey is feeling better too!

Little baby (still without a name at the moment!) is doing much better! He was moved into another room in NICU yesterday which is much less 'high risk' and means he is much closer to coming home. They have also taken the feeding tube out of his nose yesterday and he has been taking his feeds which is good news!! They are thinking he might have jaundice at the moment, but we are hoping he doesn't so we can bring him home soon!!

Hayley,

Glad to hear your little cousin is progressing well and hopefully will be out of the hospital soon. Let us know when your aunt picks a name for him.

No, not $5,000, but 3.1 miles!!!! I ran 3.19 miles today on the treadmill!!!!!! I am going to do my first ever 5K on Thursday evening, and if i survive that, i am doing another on Sunday am! I cannot believe that nine weeks ago, I couldn't run more than 30 seconds at a stretch! Wow, how far I have come!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

THAT IS AWESOME!!!:cool1: You have done fantastic! I really admire how far you have come and how hard you have worked to reach your goal! Good luck on the 5K!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Well, as you can tell I'm back early. I flew out to my brother's Saturday with the intention of leaving Sunday to go pick up my son in Portland. Saturday afternoon my son and his father called me and begged that he be allowed to stay another week (His father said he unexpectedly bonded with his son.....unexpectedly?!?!?! :sad2: ). I told his father if he wanted to buy him a plane ticket and find an airline that would fly an unaccompained minor nonstop that he had my blessings. So his father did, and Chris is staying another week, and I flew home from my brother's late last night. I've been pouting:worried: because I REALLY miss my son but I'm also REALLY happy he is having a great time with his dad. :) I had a great time with my brother. We went out on a speed boat (tourist kind....called the beast) on Galvasten Bay and got VERY wet. I mind as well of just jumped in the ocean but it wouldn't have been half the fun. I seriously didn't know that a wall of water could come over a 50ft boat like that! Have you ever seen pictures of people standing on a bridge next to a flume ride and a big wall of water goes over the top of them....soaking them? That was me on the boat! More than once! I was smart enough to put all of my electonics and money in a baggie but didn't seem to think about things like tissues and plane confimations. Do you know how hard it is to unfold wet paper? I would like to take my sons on it when we get out to Houston again. Next time though, I'm wearing swimming goggles!

Dawn,

Sorry you are missing your son, but glad that his dad is actually bonding iwth him and he's having fun. Sounds like you had a great weekend though.

Abbey is feeling a little better (updated photo).

If anyone is interested, I was on the Kennedy Space Center website and saw there would be two rocket launches on our cruise. One on 9/9 at 12 noon on a very large rocket. I wonder if we will be able to see it from Castaway Cay. :confused3 The other one will be the day we dock on 9/11 at 12 noon. They are sending up a sattelite that day.

She is SO cute! I love her little tongue. You must love and kiss on her all the time. I am glad to hear she is doing better.

Dawn,

We say the same thing, her little tounge is so cute, but watch out when she opens her mouth, it's actually pretty big, lol.

We've never made it to Kennedy in all our Florida trips, I think it would be neat to see, but will want to get to the hotel and parks the day we dock back in Florida.

I love how Abbey is sticking her tongue out! What a cutie! I'm glad she's better!!

I would love to go to Kennedy and see the shuttle! We were booked to see a shuttle launch last year on 7th Aug I believe and it was put back a day :( We had reservations at Royal Pacific Hotel then and Universal tickets so we couldn't go. I was really looking forward to it, and it took me ages to get my money back from the company. I hope we can see it from CC, that would be really cool!!

Well, update on my little cousin - He came home today!! And he is such a little cutie!! He is much better, and I think everyone is really happy that he's come home!

My magnetic tape came today! I'll finish off my magnets in DBF's house tomorrow and hopefully then I can show you all my stuff so far!

I've been working on one or two things for the fish extenders, and I'm still looking for little gifts, so I'll get those things at the start of the month - I'm so excited to surprise you all :teeth:

I think that's all I have for now :)

Hayley, I'm so glad to hear your little cousin is home safe and sound. I bet he is just a cutie!

I bought my fish extender today. :woohoo: I'm using the same woman that Patricia got hers from. I can't wait to see the finished product. Speaking of FE's, when do you think the cut off date should be to sign up? August 1st? I think we have four families participating right now, right? I'm window shopping right now and want to make sure when all is said and done that I have enough for everyone. :)

You know, I have lived here most of my life and still have not been to the space center. I've been to NASA in Houston a few times but not the one here. Christopher is a NASA fanatic (he is going to be an astronaut he always tells me!) so you would think we would have gone.....but no. I'm such a bad mommy. I wonder if a rocket lifting off would be as noticable as the space shuttle. :confused3 I think it would still be exciting to see. We have no plans after we dock so maybe I can convince my mom and her boyfriend to stick around a few hours to see it. I have already decided Christopher's surprise for his birthday next year will be the ATX adventure at the space center.

Hi, ladies. I'm about to head to bed but I wanted to see what's new with you. I think I'll reread the posts later and write back after I get some sleep.
