So, where should I be watching the weather for our cruise at? You know for pure entertainment value and not for stress or anything??? :lmao:

Looks like gas is $3.60 at the port, lol. I paid $3.50 this am. Scary that that seems like a 'good deal'!

Headline news this morning said the port is supposed to get 3-15" of rain over the next 36 hours...but in two weeks it wont be there for us. Last year for my honeymoon there was a tropical depression/storm that came through the week of my birthday (which was yesterday), and our cruise the frist week of September went off without a hitch and the the week after we got back to Illinois another one hit. I say in about a week start looking at the Gold Coast of Africa, as that is the location that these storm cells are created. If you a massive one builiding in a week off of Africa, with a westerly migration in direction then start to "ponder" about the trip being wet or not...otherwise take Coach Dale's advice and dont worry...

There is another one out there but haven't heard to much about it. You can see it on satelite. I'm starting wonder if I should bother taking the storm shutters down. hehe I'm not worried. what is is. :)

Tues and Wens no rain no wind and no school. Today rain and wind and kids had school. :confused3 They sent home a note to check web site tonight about school Friday. We could use about a foot of rain here at least so I welcome the rain. Bring it Fay!

We did have a tourist from NY drown today in Daytona Beach. She was out in the water at the beach during a Tropical Storm. Sad but, really really stupid.

I wonder if Hayley got in alright today? :wizard: Pixie dust for her :wizard:

That goes right along w/ the man who was kite sailing during the tropical storm and got picked up by the winds and slammed into the beach and picked up again and slammed into a building. Last I heard he was in critical condition. Sad but he is obviously not the brightest bulb in the chandler:sad2: People think they can surf and play in the waves but there are bad rip currents that you have to be aware of. A lot of people panic and drown when getting stuck in a rip current but you just have to try to keep your head and keep swimming parallel to the shore until you get out of it. I got stuck in a rip current once and it is pretty scary.

I hope Hayley made it in ok w/ the weather being what it is. I would hate for her vacation to be off to a horrible start. It won't be long before Corinna is across the pond also.

Hi, Everyone,

I'm still in California. We were supposed to leave today. We even checked out of the hotel and were on our way to the airport when my friend got a call that she needed to stay one more day. Fortunately, it was only 8:30 in the morning, so we had the rest of the day to keep doing what we have been doing - swimming, shopping, site-seeing. We're definitely leaving tomorrow after she finished up here, but the trip report will have to wait a couple days since I'll have to drive up to PA to pick up my daughter who is staying with my inlaws.

Be back later!

We have had our cruise booked for awhile now but I just found out about DIS and this thread. My husband has been on DIS before but this is my first time! Can we join your discussions and stuff? I know it is kinda late in the game but do we need to do anything to catch up?

My husband will be celebrating his 32nd bday on board! We are going with my parens and our three children (11 yr old daughter, 4 yr old son, 4 yr old daughter)

Do you guys actually try to meet up on board or anything? This is our first cruise and our first Disney cruise!!

Welcome to the dis and our cruise thread. There has been talk fo trying to meet up before sail away. Some of us are staying at the Radisson the night before and are going to try to meet up. Jump in and enjoy the entertainment. My name is Patty, my hubby Dale (who is a comedian on here) and I are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary with a vow renewal on board the Wonder. We are so excited. Again, welcome and tell us more about yourself.

Welcome to the board! I will be sailing with my 10 yr old DD(will be 11 on 9/12) and my 9 yr old DS. Hubby will be home with the other 4 kiddos.

Are your 4 yr olds twins? I have 6 yr old twin boys.

This will be my 10th cruise(my 3rd Disney cruise) so if you have any questions let me know.

On a positive note :confused3 , just checked the port cam and saw a ship in dock. Obviously not Disney but still a ship. Looks good.

:welcome: Glad to get to know you! I will be sailing w/ my mom, her boyfriend, my son who is four, and my other son who is turning 10 on the cruise. He does not know about this....it is a surprise birthday present. :ssst: Perhaps my son and your son and daughter will be in the kids club together. He is a total soical butterfly!

Monica, glad you got an extra day in CA. I can't wait to hear all about it!!

WELCOME!!!! miler1600. My wife and I are sailing on our second cruise and will be celebrating our second anniversary onboard. Its never too late to enjoy Disney Anything!!!! lol Will your family be participating with the fish extender's? I just got the last of the supplies and was prep. them today...didnt know if i should throw one more shrimp on the barbi lol...well its down to just 16 days...can't wait. We already have our luggage pulled out and starting to pack. Looking forward to seeing you all onboard. I was out of town for a while on business (didnt get to take my laptop with me :-( so I couldn't keep intouch with ya'll while I was gone.) Have we all decided on a place and time for the social meet and greet? Depending on what time you all get to the port terminal...there is a bit of a wait while we wait to board the ship...maybe we could all meet there if you haven't picked out a spot already? Hope everyone's travel in the next 16 days goes off without a hitch!

Oh my goodness we leave in two weeks (tomorrow morning)!!!!! I am getting so excited, more and more each day!!!!!

Tanae (our newest member), I will add you into my list for Fish Extenders. I guess we should see if those still around can accomodate another with the exchange.

As far as I am concerned no more can do on additional people on the fish extenders. Most of the stuff was either limited edition and is no longer available or I would need to order additional supplies which would not get here before we leave home a week from today. I am really sorry.
We have decided to spend the night before we fly to Florida at a hotel at the airport so that we don't have to get up too early on the day (like I will sleep the night before anyway ;) ). Graham is a member of their health club so we get a really good discount at the hotel. We have a club room booked so I will be spending a large part of the day in the club lounge. They also have a great oriental restaurant. So my vacation officially starts one week from now. Only four days left at work before we go :yay: :yay:
I managed to get the Dolphins in Depth tour at Epcot booked for me on September 16th and managed to get an earlier ADR at Boma. I needed to move the day as I want to do the evening EMH at Epcot on the 12th when we were meant to go to Boma. This worked out better for us as an earlier time was available on the 13th.
Right, I better head for town to pick up packaging materials and labels for the Fish Extender gifts. I also need to buy a new printer. My laptop will no longer connect to the internet and our printer is not compatible with our MAC. I have check in documents for two cruises to print off.

Corinna

I have to agree. I thought we were going to have a cut off for the FE like 30 days out or something. I know some people made things and some have already left for their vacation(s). I don't think it would be fair to add people at this point.

Corinna, WOOHOOO one week til your vacation starts!!!! Two weeks for us and things are getting crazy. Hope you enjoy your night before your trip. We are fortunate, we live less and 20 minutes from the airport, so no excuse to spend the night at the hotel, lol. But we will be at the Radisson the nigth before the cruise. Looking forward to meeting you then.

Hope you have a great cruise and no weather related problems.

I completely understand not being able to add on to the FE list. I am still making my gifts so I can add on Tanae on to my list, but know Hayley's already left and others are doing some land portion before the trip (so they are leaving soon also).

Have a safe flight and we'll see you in two weeks!
