Hi,
Sorry couldn't find a thread about it the search engine just kept going and never seemed to stop? So anyhoo, I just purchased tickets for the Halloween party because the rep on the phone went on and on about it and how it's a not to be missed event and since this is my first time ever at WDW I didn't want to risk there being no tickets left when we get there in Oct.
So my question is my daughter is 12 is this worth it for us? The rep said that even adults could wear costumes is this true? And is trick or treating limited to just little children or can the whole family trick or treat?(yes I am a big kid and I want candy and dis goodies too lol! ) Do the costumes need to be Dis oriented or can they be any family friendly kind of costume? Any kind of info about the party and things that we should be on the look out for to enjoy it more would be great!

Thanks Bunches!

The party is a blast. My teens love it and all of us (adults included) dress in some sort of costume-sometimes Disney themed, sometimes not. The only kind of costume I wouldn't probably wear are the ones meant for the boudoir since I figure you really should be family friendly. Yes, EVERYONE can trick or treat...we all do in our house. We have a lot of fun. Definitely do not miss the parade or Hallowishes. Both are awesome! ::yes:: You will not be disappointed.

It's great! The parade is the best Disney parade, IMHO. As far as costumes go, just don't wear a face mask. It's not allowed. The trick-or-treating consists of candy 'stations' set up throughout the park. Grab a party map as you go in. The candy stations will be marked. Everyone gets a bag and everyone gets candy! Hope you have a blast!

We did this 3 years ago and we had a blast! We all dressed up and no it doesn't have to be disney. The parade was great to watch at night. Our DS and DD got all the candy, and alot I may say. The best was seeing all the costumes and what different people came up with. We were dressed in different costumes, but there was some families that did a theme (100 dalmations and so on). You will enjoy yourselves no matter what the ages of your group!

um, you can end up with a lot of candy, you'll see spectacular costumes, boo to you parade is really cool... you'll wanna see the headless horseman.

I did this for the first time last year and we just ordered our tickets for Sept this year! The party was terrific! I didn't dress up but my kids did and they had a blast! The parade and Hallowishes are fantastic! Don't miss them! I have the best memories from the party and some terrific video!!

You will love it to be sure!;)

My DD is 12 and she loves the party. She didn't want to dress in disney princess fashion so she just chose a funny costume. We are going back this year. We got sooo much candy that we had to get rid of all 10 lbs at the airport because it made our luggage over the max weight!:scared1: I couldn't believe how much we had actually accumulated.

I had to write about the party too. Our family loves it. We always go as a theme. The first year we went , my dh and I and our ds, ddil and dgd all went as the snow white theme. It was so cute, our dgd was 3 at the time and she was snow white. The rest of us dressed up as the dwarfs. We got so many compliments and they weren't even professional costumes. We had tshirts with the name of our dwarf on it and dwarf hats. The next year, my dgd was Alice, pur baby dgs was the mad hatter, I was the white rabbit and my ddil was the queen of hearts and my dh and ds were tweedledee and tweedledum. This is the best party in disney in my opinion!

MNSSHP is by far the greatest event WDW offers, IMHO. We want to go back so badly and it looks like it won't be until at least 2009 :( We went in 2007 and all of us dressed up (you can see pics on my trip report - the link is in my siggy) and we are all adults. We all trick or treated and we all meet characters! It was awesome! Hallowishes and the Boo To You Parade are the best! I recorded both and watch them often and I bought the CD from WDW that has the music for both on it, put them both on my iPod and listen to them daily!

We attended quite a few years ago, we were staying at the Poly that trip, our first Halloween party and it was wife and I, daughter and SIL, we dressed. We had the time of our lives, never laughed as hard as we did. Boarding the monorail at the Poly to go to the party, there were 4 adults dresses as Star Wars storm troopers, best costumes I've ever seen and in the next car was Darth Vader, again, professional costumes and these were all adults. People go all out for this thing, headless horseman alone is worth the admission cost. We rode alot of rides, castle lights are not to be missed, they darken the whole park, jack lanterns all over, eerie lights, fog and fireworks to die for. If you're there, and can get tickets, I'd do it. We wouldn't do it every year but now and then its a blast and we're in our middle 50's.

Hi KayluvsMickey, we too are staying at POP from Sept 14-20th...very excited about the MNSSHP and my daughters 8th bday the same day (16th)...we had the castle booked for dinner but have changed our ressies as I hear it's only the 'feel of the castle" that you pay for and the food is not so good.
Hope to see you there! Love these disboards...can be soo addicting though!

We totally loved the party and especially the parade. Be sure to get the pamplet with the sites for trick-or-treating and other info. We didn't get it at first and later realized we had missed some cool stuff. No big. Just another reason to go back!

Well the tickets are all set! Thanks for all the great feedback! I honestly really can't wait for WDW even more than ever now:banana: Does anyone have anymore links to pics from last years party? I love looking at different fun costumes:dance3:

We went there on our honeymoon and it was well worth the money and the time spent. It's really cute. EVERYONE dresses up. We didn't (except for our bride and groom ears) b/c we didn't think everyone would be, and we did feel a little out of place. Next time we will definitely go in costume. It was so much fun, and we didn't have kids w/ us!! Everyone was trick or treating and there was SO much candy left at the end that cast members were standing at the exits w/ BOXES and BOXES of candy begging people to take it-although I think we were there the last night, so I don't know if that's a nightly occurence. So worth it, so fun!:stir:

Hi everyone! I'm new here, and I just ordered our tickets! I've always wanted to go to the MNSSHP and we're finally going! We attended the MVMCP this past Dec. and LOVED it! I love Halloween though more than most in my family, so going during the Halloween party is very exciting for me. I was wondering the same thing about dressing up. I work at a local theatrical costumer shop (my bff made me several Disney princess Dresses, along with many past costumes) and DH and I ALWAYS dress up for Halloween...it's always expected of us! So, does anyone have any good suggestions for costumes for our fist MNNSHP? We want to get started on our costumes soon, and I really want them to be fun!

Another thing. During the party my DS and I went on space mountain 3 times in a row with no wait. That's a huge bonus not having to worry about that during the day with the lines. :cool1:

I myself wanted my little group to be a gang of pirates in honor of Captain Jack, but of course I got the nay! So still brainstorming on this end. Maybe the undead from the thriller video lol!

Thanks for the links lovestoscrap! I'm a bit sad to see there are no pics of Jack Skellington and Sally:( Tell me has the Nightmare before Christmas gang ever appeared at the MNSSHP?

We booked our vacation about a month ago and bought tickets to MNSSHP. Do we get those tickets in the mail or do we pick them up at the park?
