We are going to WDW in mid September and I noticed that there is a Halloween Party in the evening. Can anyone shed some light on what this is all about?

Has anyone every attended this event? I don't know if I should pan to attend or not.

We went in 05 with DD3 & DS4 at the time. They really had fun trick or treating and DH & I enjoyed seeing everyone dressed up. They also do different fireworks that night and a different parade. Plus the park is open late for those that are attending too (although it is still crowded!) We would do it again!

We went in 2002. It was fun. At that time, everyone who went was able to receive a free family picture. It was neat to Trick or Treat at WDW, even the grown-ups can. The park is decorated for Halloween.

Went and my daughter was 4. She was scared of the parade. Husband had to walk away from the parade with her. I didn't think it was scarey, but all the villians were in the parade, and the music was a bit. They have 'ghosts' lights against the main street buildings, and the headless horseman ran through. Just some thoughts.....

If you want to attend, you have to purchase tickets for an extra charge. I wasn't aware of that last year until I stumbled on this board. Our travel agent never bothered to tell us. You get a wrist band, and you're admitted to theparty which goes on from 7-12. A lot of people dress up in costume, they give out halloween bags for the kids to trick or treat at specified locations, and they have a great paraded where at the end, the kids get more candy handed out by disney employees and characters. There was also a show at the castle where the lights in the park dimmed and they had fireworks. It was great fun, in my opinion. My DD is 9 and she had a blast. Hope that helped in some small way.

We took DD last year, she was 3, nearly 4, at the time. She LOOOOVED it and I can truly say it was the highlight of her trip. She does like Halloween though, and is not frightened by halloweenish stuff. She wore her pirate dress and was fussed over by everyone. She rode everything she wanted to with no waiting. She got tons of candy. They painted her face for free. She really liked that parade but she did not like the villian show in front of the castle or the fireworks (that didn't surprise us since she doesn't like fireworks in general). It is a very fun event, especially if halloween is a favorite celebration in your house. The decorations are pretty cool and the focus is on the fun, cartoony side of halloween, but then, its Disney :rotfl:

We love it and we go every year. Our family always dresses up. We enjoy the special fireworks show and the Boo To You parade with the headless horseman starting things off. My kids have never been afraid, but I guess there is always that chance with some kids. Not much to be scared over except maybe the headless horseman and he comes and goes in the blink of an eye. The trick or treating is nice, although we really don't go for that, just a nice perk. We have done hula hoop contests and dance contests in Cosmic Ray's and there has been different activities over by SpaceM and Carousel of Progress (CoP is closed during the party). Official time of the party is 7pm-midnight, but you can enter as early as 4pm with your party ticket. We have done the free pics during the party, but last year we didn't. I don't even recall seeing the photo stations last year, but we may just have missed them-we really didn't seek them out. In 2005 they did a free family photo in the lobby of the Hall of Presidents and where the Laugh Factory is across from Stitch's Great Escape. DD has had the face painting and the ride waits are pretty low, unless you go towards the weekend or on Halloween/Halloween Eve. No matter what, we always have had a blast at the party and could not do without it! :upsidedow

We just recieved our tickets to the 09/21/07 event and I am so exited(no advance purchase discount for this date). They are like credit cards with Disney characters(of course) and our last name is on the back of them;) As you can probably tell, this is our first time attending this event. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if tinkerbell makes an appearance like she does in wishes or is there a witch since it's the hallowishes firework show? (I know there will not be doing wishes that night)Also, do they sell halloween tees and are they cute? Finally, I have ADR at CRT @ 6:35.. do you think I should move it to an earlier time? I am afraid that my 2 DDs' will miss something fabulous. Gracias!

For MNSSHP, we always try and do either the last seating for lunch or the first seating for dinner as we do not want to cut into our time at the party. LTT is by far the most popular, although we did eat at CRT last year for the party. Time at the party goes quickly, but whether you keep or reschedule your dinner is really a personal decision.

A few years back they used to have the characters in costume on the MNSSHP tickets, but not anymore. Wish they still did that-we thought those were pretty cool and made for great scrapbooking since they were in the Halloween theme. pirate:

The MNSSHP is one of my favorite events at Disney. You sill not be able to get the music of the parade out of your head and the fireworks show is awesome.

I really did not start thinking about my CRT reservation until I got my Halloween tickets. I will call to TRY and reschedule for an earlier time. We also have a reservation at LTT for that Tuesday.

As far as the cute tickets, I agree they are great momentos!

We plan our Disney trip each year so we can attend the party...it is a lot of fun for both of our kids (ds 11, dd 3) and for us parents too! I really loved the Cinderella carriage photo spot last year because dd wore her custom Cinderella costume!

We will be attending for the first time this year and are so excited.

You're going to have so much fun! Our first time was last year, and watching my 9 year old DD have such a great time was seriously one of the best memories of my life. She's such a straight kid, never wants to appear "uncool" so to have her be in awe of things like Cinderella and trick or treating again was just magical. :goodvibes

I went when i was on my honeymoon (9-05)... then the next year as well (10-06), and i am going back this year (10-07). well worth paying for the tickets!!!

Last year the photos weren't free, they were a percentage off, but still a great deal! Special MNSSHP t shirts are also for sale...very cute! And don't forget the dance parties too!
