Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

How many tickets are released and sold before a party is considered sold out? In other words - what is the maximumm people attending the Party?

We attend every year...the sold out nights seem to occur later in October. Usually Halloween itself or weekend nights are the ones to sell out. We go in early October and even when it has been on the more crowded side, it is still so much better than what you would experience at a normal day in MK.

That is a well guarded secret that Disney doesn't like to give out.

There have been numbers floating around over the years and it seems they also increase over the years (I do actually believe they are selling more tickets than they used to) too.

First I heard 18,000, then I heard 20,000 and finally last year it was rumored to be 30,000. Only Disney knows for sure though.

It's so good to hear you say that! We bought MNSSHP tics for Halloween night and ever since, I have heard how incredibly crowded it is. I even heard a few say they will NEVER do it again due to the crowds. I was really starting to worry - glad to hear it's less crowded than normal. Thanks!

I did Halloween night twice and also Oct 2 and Oct 26.

Halloween night is defintely crowded but it's also manageable too. Some parts of the park will seem more crowded than others like Main Street always seems busy but the rides should be fine. The trick or treat lines will look long but they go really fast.

The worst will be the character lines as they are quite popular even on a non-sold out night. The same with the face-painting.

If you go with somewhat of a plan and some priorities set of what you'd like to accomplish, you'll do fine.

My advice, go to the second parade.

Yes, you must buy a ticket to the event to be able to go to it. It is held after the park officially closes for the day so the only way in is with the party ticket.

You can buy the tickets over the phone by calling Disney's main number, or you can buy them online at disney.com under special events or you can buy them while you are down at WDW at Guest Relations.

I, too, have always heard that Disney won't release these figures. I was kind of surprised to read, on the mouseplanet web site, that attendance for MNSSHP is capped at 25,000. ("Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is a very popular event, with attendance capped at 25,000 people per night.") I have never been to MNSSHP before (this will be my familes first year to try it) but have attended MVMCP in the past and it seemed so crowded...like way more than 25K.

Excuse my ignorance but besides fireworks what all goes on during this party. Are certain park attractions still open or dining available? I ask because the time says 7-12am and im trying to figure when and where we should make reservations for dinner that night. On or near the park? Before or during this party?

It's most of the rides, trick or treating, characters in costumes, the special Hallowishes fireworks, the parade (with the Headless Horseman starting it out), some shows and dance parties etc....

Most eat right before the party so as not to waste any time eating during the party. I like to eat around 5:30p at one of the MK restaurants. Unfortunately, they fill up fast, especially LTT so you'll have to decide soon.

Thanks for the info on other things going on during it. I've been debating if I'd want to get tickets for that if our Oct trip plans out good in the coming months. I think dd would love it based on her trick or treating last Oct.

I've never seen that many people there in Sept/Oct before so this happens often where you can just walk right one and even stay on and ride again sometimes. Thats the beauty of going in the Fall.

We tend to vacation right before or after Columbus Day and we have gotten hit with the crowds-at least at MK. Maybe we just have no luck!

We did Halloween night 2001 and it was crowded but not too bad. The haunted mansion had a 2 hour wait, which we skipped.

Crowds were down that year due to 9/11 and we were told that the crowds have now returned to pre-9/11.

We attended MNSSHP last September 29th which was sold out. It was packed and moving sometimes was a challenge. I was told that attendance was 30,000 by several folks (CM's and non-CM's), but we managed to do all the party events from 7pm to 10:30am. We left the party exactly as the second parade was exiting in Town Square. Lots of fun, lots and lots of candy. We did absolutely no rides and had a blast.

We went on the 30th last year which I read on here was sold out. The only times we had problems with crowds was during the parades and fireworks, and some character greeting lines, but even then it was more than manageable. We walked on to every ride, and even rode some of them twice in a row.

You can check the DisMeets..I believe there is a thread for MNSSHP there. We are also going on 10/4...the whole family will be dressing as pirates (I know...how original... )
