My DH and I will be in Disney for the first night of Mickey's halloween party. This is our first real trip alone without our children. Is this event geared more towards children, or would we enjoy this too???

Chuck and I went last October on Halloween night. We had a great time. We don't have children.

My own opinion is if you love Disney, with or without children, you'll love the Halloween Party.

Have a great vacation!

I have heard this question a lot from adults, trust me it is fun no matter what. There are a lot of adults dressed up in costume (me) and then there are some that just want to go in their normal clothes, either way it is just a fun time.

I just like to see the Magic Kingdom all decked out in it's Halloween gear, there are candy stations (which I never do), a Boo To You Halloween parade, I still have that song stuck in my head from last year, and the characters are all dressed up in their Halloween costumes. Oh yeah and the best part is that you can easily get on the rides, last year we just went from ride to ride walking right on with no wait!!!

It really is awesome and I highly recommend that you go see it atleast once.

I went a couple of years ago with my mom and my sister's family (husband, two kids). We started the evening together and had our picture taken, but then went our separate ways. We had a blast. It's the best parade I've seen at Disney and just a different atmosphere. It's not mindblowingly different, but fun, and they play creepy music as the park is closing that will stick with you.

Having the extra time in the park at night and the different parade and seeing the kids all excited was worth the purchase price for me. My sister had been to an earlier MNSSHP where she said the decorations were far more intense (fake leaves all over the streets, etc, appearing magically even though she'd already been in the park that day) and said that it had been toned down over the years in terms of theming. Not sure if others agree.

I still enjoyed myself immensely.

Throughout the years things have changed. We were very disappointed in last years parade compared to the one they had the previous years.

However, the new Hallowishes is the best. We were very impressed with them last year.

This party is the only time that you will see any of the parks decorated for Halloween. We consider it a MUST DO with or without kids.

My DH and I went without the kids last year and we had a fun time. We dressed up as pirates, the kids loved seeing our pictures. This year my sister and I are going for a girls only trip and we will be attending the party on 10/16. We will be dressing up for it.

I'm attending my first party this year. I always travel solo, and know I'll have a wonderful time regardless!!!

Do adults go trick-or-treating? And do they have to wear costumes to do so?

We will be on our honeymoon in october and me and dh will be attending the MNSSHP on Oct 5. When we called to order the tickets the CM actually asked if we are going to dress up. So it is definitly not just geared towards children. Also when everyone enters through the gates they give everyone a trick or treat bag. So I'm quite sure you do not have to be dressed up to enjoy the treats. Hopefully you will decide to go! :thumbsup2

DH and I went last year. We dressed up and had the best time. We did not do the candy stations because they were just regular candy you can get anywhere. We did stalk the characters and got pictures with villans, snow white and the 7 dwarfs, and many other characters dressed up. It was a blast. I am sad we can't go this year.

I ordered the tix right away this morning as soon as I saw the dates...with all the DIS-ing I do, I can't believe I didn't notice this sooner...I'm so ashamed! I was just trying to get an idea of what to expect cause I'm so excited about it! DH has already said no costumes though so I didn't know if we could still get a few goodies (I've seen where one person got 24 lbs of candy, I don't wanna go that far, just a handful for the room to settle our sweet-tooth & late-nite cravings!)...and thank you both for your helpful responses!

You absolutely do not have to wear costumes, though you will see most children in costumes and many adults in costumes. Everyone can go trick or treating whether in costume or not.

Maybe just matching Halloween t-shirts for the two of you? :thumbsup2

Costumes are definitely NOT necessary to trick or treat. We got tons of candy and there were 6 of us, all adults. It was the most fun I have had in a long time. It brought me back to my childhood. 40 some years ago was the last time I had trick or treated.

We're so excited to be going! :goodvibes I ordered out tix for Sept. 15th the other day and booked LTT for 4:10. The CM who checked LTT availability was surprised as there were only 3 (early)tables left-2 @ 4:05 and one at 4:10. I jumped on 4:10. This way will be done eating before the official start at 7. Only bummer is I have an ADR for Kona that night I'll have to change to another night-it's our favorite :lovestruc restaurant. See you there!

THANK YOU - THAT IS AN AWESOME IDEA! :thumbsup2
I think I can get DH to agree to that! See everyone on 9/22! :woohoo:

P.S. just thought of another question or 2...since we each get our own photo-op (one with each ticket), are there different locations/scenery/backgrounds we can look for...and are these available on Photopass?
