We will be at DisneyWorld for the first night of this years MNSSHP. We have never been to this event before, and I am wondering if the extra ticket cost is worth it. Don't get me wrong I LOVE Halloween, but I am wondering how the crowds are the first night, etc. I know my two kids will love it (I will too) :thumbsup2 , just convince me that its worth the extra cost and the possible extra aggravation if it is way too crowded.

Thanks for all your help!

I believe I read that the first night is September 29th. I checked the Disney hours for September, and the Magic Kingdom hours for that night are 7 to midnight. CAN'T WAIT! :teeth:

Went to the party in 04 and was worth every penny! It was DH, me and 12 year old then, she still talks about it. We rode all the rides lots. We are going again this year with just DH and myself.

We have been going to the party every year for the last 4 years and we love it. I have never been when it is exceptionally crowded. They only sell a certain number of tickets for each night so that helps with the crowds a lot. My little brothers favorite part is that all of the characters are in their halloween costumes and that is not something that you can see unless you actually go to MNSSHP. Hope this helps.

the earlier in the schedule you go, the lighter the crowds. for the most part, the rides are all nearly walk-ons. we prefer it over the very merry christmas party, and go every year. last year the herded us into frontierland at 6:00 to clear out the park, and my daughter and her friend rode big thunder over 10 times, most without getting off. splash was a walk-on as well. it's a great party, and worth every dime.

Worth every penny.

Doing MVMCP this year but if I can get a Ding and a good rate I will be right back instead of waitinguntil 2007

we were there in 04 and loved it. we loved dressing up. we were shrek and princess and fiona. so fun. we saw the fortune tellers. mine was right on too. we rode the rides with no to little lines. we rode big thunder mountain 3x in a row without getting off and were lucky enough to ride haunted mansion all by ourselves. we went back to those rides at the very beginning of the night. the headless horsemen was really cool to see as well as all the villians. i am going in dec this year, but will definately miss the halloween time. definately worth the extra price. :thumbsup2

We've gone in 2000, 2003, 2005 and are planning to go in 2006.

In 2003 we went twice it was so much fun. Halloween night was a little more crowded than earlier in the week, but it was still very manageable.

I picked my trip in 2002, 2003 and 2005 during Halloween because of the vent. I love Halloween.
Halloween at WDW is great; Candy, Parade, fireworks, candy, decorations, storrytellers, candy, Haunted Mansion, candy... Oh and did I mentioned candy?

Now get those tickets and enjoy.

We went last year and had a great time. My DS(5) doesn't want to be home for Halloween this year he wants to go back to Disney for the party. We are planning to go down in the middle of October for a long weekend to do the party and food and wine fes. :cool1: The night we went was sold out and it still didn't seem that busy. It was very fun.

decided to go ahead and do it. Boy are we glad! It was so much fun! We did not dress up (and honestly, I believe less than half the kids did and less than 1/4 of the adults) but had such a good time! Walked on most rides especially in the last 90 minutes. Enjoyed the parade and the fireworks. We would do it again in a heartbeat!

Have a great time!

We went last year and didn't feel it was worth it for the price. It was just my husband and I, so I can't say how much a child would like it. I have to say, we decided to go with the impression that they would limit the number of people allowed in the parks. And while I am sure this is true, it sure didn't limit them to the numbers we expected. The crowds were pretty large and the lines for candy in the early evening were too long to make standing in the line worth it. In addition, the line for the free picture was atrocious (note there are designated spots in the park for free pictures, you will have to pay for your picture from other spots - why they don't make 1 picture free regardless of where it is taken, I don't know). The crowds for the parade were huge as well. The lines for the rides didn't appear too long, but we really didn't do any rides that evening. That said, it was nice to see the park all decorated for Halloween and the parade was wonderful (other than the difficulty we had in viewing it because of the crowds). But all in all, we probably won't go again. In our opinion, it was too expensive to have to deal with large crowds.

I've done Easter and it was great but very, very crowded.

In 2004 we went the week before Christmas, everything was beautiful, but the weather was cold.

This past October we went the week in between Halloween and Columbus week. Crowds were low, weather hot.

I have to say I'll definitaly return this time of year. We had a wonderful time.

We did not do the LTT dinner we ate at 1900 Park Fare, by 6:30 we were in the Park. No lines to enter. I would recommend wearing light costumes, it was very hot and humid the night we attended. We watched the second parade. Did our Trick or Treating during the first parade. Most of the spots were in ToonTown (Mickey and Friends) and along the back side of Speedway (Alice and the Mad Hatter Friends) Another area was Adventureland Friends. We never went to this area our bags were full.

We did go to Cosmic Ray for the Stitch's Cosmic Dance Party. There was another dance party at the Ariel's Grotto which we did not attend.

We did do lots of rides, most were walk on's. There was a special Grim Grinning Ghost come out to Socialize Show at the Castle Forecourt Stage before The Happy HalloWishes , with all the villans, awesome show and fireworks This area was a great spot to sit and wait for the parade. In the shadow on the bridge waits the Headless Horseman. Around 10 he starts his gallop and behind him starts Mickey's Boo To You Halloween Parade. A not to be missed parade.

Make sure to purchase your MNSSHP Merchandise before you leave. It's only sold during the Party Hours.

I can't wait to return (2007) My Granddaughter still talk about this wonderful party.

LOVE MNSSHP and have done it 3 times and will be doing it again this October!

Try it once and see for yourself. YOu will get so many differing opinion based on so many different things....everyone's experience is different based on when they went (what part of the month), where they hung out in the park (some areas are more crowded then others at different times of the night), which parade they watched and if they had a plan of attack or not. YMMV.

I went the beginning of October and sold out Halloween night twice and had a great time all 3 times. Go for it.

My family also felt like it was not worth the extra price. We had DGK with us and they really didn't enjoy the pushing and shoving for the candy. We actually left early because of the crowds. Wouldn't do it again.
