We'll be there on the 30th, God willing!! :teeth:

We're deciding between the 26th and the 30th, but leaning toward the 30th. Then we plan to spend Halloween night enjoying the festivities at Fort Wilderness!

We will be there also on the 30th.We just made our ressies for LTT for 5:00.We cant wait.We are staying at the BWV for the first part of our trip and WLV for the second part. Our first time in Oct. and our first time at BWV.

Dawn: I didn't know they did special things at Ft. Wilderness! We'll be at VWL and would love to know any details you have. :)

DiznEeyore, I can't remember all of the details from when we were there last year, but I think they had several activities during the day on Halloween day (we didn't participate in the day activities last year, just heard about them). The one thing I can remember is that they have a pumpkin carving contest -- I think they even provide the pumpkins! Then they have the judging of the pumpkins (and some very nice prizes) at the campfire that night. You should have seen some of the amazing pumpkins people did!

As you may know, FW has a campfire program every night, including a "sing along with Chip and Dale" and a Disney movie. On October 31, Chip and Dale are there in their Halloween costumes. Toward the end of the sing along, the headless horseman rides through the campfire area (very cool) and drops off a big black bag. Chip and Dale are "afraid" to look inside, but when they finally do, there's candy in there! So they hand it out to all of the kids -- most of whom are in costume. Then they show two "scary" movies -- last year it was The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and The Black Cauldron. As with every night, there are campfires set up to toast marshmallows, and you can buy the stuff to make s'mores as well as other snacks at the "Chuckwagon." (You can also bring your own s'mores stuff.) It's a lot of fun! I highly recommend doing the FW campfire at least one night, even if it's not Halloween night.

There's also a Haunted Hayride, which I've heard is fun. We didn't do it last year, but plan to this year. This costs extra, but I think it's fairly reasonable.

That's all I can remember -- sorry the details are so sketchy! (Maybe someone else can fill in more info?)

Thank you so much for that info!!We will be at the MNSSHP Oct 30 and I was wondering what we were going to do on the 31st and that sounds GREAT!!!!!

Dawn, thanks so much for the info! I'm putting that on my schedule as a must do! :teeth:

Wow, I was also "planning" on trying to go to MNSSHP on the 30th (figuring the 31st would be sold out first?) and wondering what we'd do on the 31st. And I was already thinking one night we'd do Chip/Dale campfire/songs/movie one day in our trip! So now I think I know where we'll be on the 31st! LOL

But one question- how soon do you think the tickets for the 30th will be sold out?? I mean does anyone have ANY idea? We have a situation where we have some huge debts we're paying off by August- so we wouldn't be able to buy the tickets for this until late August. Think there's any chance there will still be 2 tickets (1 adult, 1 child) available at that time?????? Even want to take a guess at whether there will be or not? Let me know please!

My DH and I will be there on 10/30! I am in desparate need of costume ideas! All suggestions welcome!

We will be there on the 30th. I do have a question, is it better to stay in the park that day so you are better able to get to the first thing you want to do? Or, should we leave and come back at 7? There will be 4 adults and 3 kids in our group, and it is the first trip to Disney for all of us. The wait is so hard.

We enjoy being in the park when the party starts. Last year, you could enter around 4 or 4:30 (can't remember exactly what time) without using a day on your Hopper if you didn't want to, and get your wristband at the gate. As the park was closing at 6, they herded everyone back toward Tomorrowland and Fantasyland. Pinocchio's Village Haus was open for dinner (I think pretty much all the other counter service places closed at 6 and reopened at 7). We had dinner there with tons of other party-goers, so it was great fun! When the party started, we were already inside the park, so we were able to avoid the "initial crush" to into the MK.

HTH!!

We'll be there on the 30th! QUESTION: Can you use a regular Park hopper to enter the NSSHP.....and other parks that same day?......or do you need to buy a specific ticket for this event....and in addition use Park hopper for other parks?

THANKS!

We'll be there on the 30th!!
My daughter, who will be almost 3, can't stop talking about it. This will be our first time going to MNSSHP!
We are really looking forward to it!!!

Worker 33:

You'll need to buy a separate ticket for MNSSHP, as only ticket holders will be admitted for the party after the park officially closes for the day. You are NOT, however, required to purchase any other admission for MK - just the Halloween party tickets.

As for the other parks and MK during the day, your regular park-hopper admission will get you in - it's just MNSSHP you need a separate ticket for.

Hope this helped - I'm not entirely sure if I understood your question correctly!! :D

Okay disregard my previous question (I think you did anyway LOL) since we paid those off sooner than we thought. I think I've just about decided to go on this little solo trip before our family trip and want to enjoy MNSSHP on this date- but I have one question before I buy the ticket.
Do you have to be staying onsite in order to buy this??? Just curious because since this is a solo trip and I can stay offsite SOOOO much cheaper- I probably won't be staying onsite on this trip. Will that be a problem when it comes to MNSSHP???

Please let me know!

I am in a pickle. My ds is 5 and dd will be 15mo. on trip. Trying to decide if we should bring dd to MNSSHP or hire in room sitter. I am really torn. will she be cranky? usually not. Would my son have more fun being able to do things w/o having little sissy ? She goes to bed for nite around 9 everynite. Will it be different on vac.?Anyone have some advice?

I just bought our tickets for the 30th!!! :) DD (almost 3yo) already knows she is going to Mickey's Halloween party and is very excited!! She just has to decide on WHICH Princess she will be? DH and I haven't decided but are thinking about being the King and Queen of our little princess!! :)

Hope to see some lime green ribbons on the 30th also!

Vic32 - regarding you 15mo - I know when our DD was that age she had NO Problem staying up at WDW for night time activities! :) We just made sure she had a nice nap during the day or at least we tried. :p Actually sometimes mommy or daddy needed the nap more! But even with a little sleep she was just so excited by all the lights, sounds and people she was a very happy baby day and night at WDW!!! Even if you were at home would she be up later for Halloween night anyway? If so I wouldn't really be to concerned and go for the whole family going besides - she's FREE! Good luck.

I am thinking she will be fine!!!! Even now she is a very happy baby even w/o a nap. She has never required much sleep. I think I am going to take a chance and take her with us. I am the one who will need naps!!

We just got tickets for the 10/30 MNSSHP - they weren't sold out yet! Have never been and we are really looking forward to it...would suggest anyone considering going on 10/30 or 10/31 call now - CM said tickets were going fast.
