Hi!

I have been racking my brain for costume ideas for my family. Thankfully we have some time before we leave but here is the cast of characters:

DH
Me
DS-5 (but tall and lanky)
DS-4 (Solid is the only word, not fat, solid)
GM- a young 74

Can you think of a cast of characters that would be in a group? The only thing I could think of is the Incredibles, but I don't see my DH wearing tights. Maybe Cinderella, Jacques, Gus Gus, The Fairy Godmother and The Prince...
Dunno! HELP!:scared1:

I’m actually working on a similar problem of my own, but I’ll offer what I can. One idea is, do more of a… theme maybe. Example: Pirates, Princes/Princesses ect… You could also do a non Disney movie, the last few years, we’ve done Matrix, and everyone always gets a kick out of it. Though, if you want Disney… what about 101 Dalmatians? Or Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Hercules, umm… I’ll add more if I can think of any. I hope this helps maybe a little.

I was thinking pirates too, if I can get them all to do it.

Any idea if we can meet Capt Jack Sparrow at the MNSSHP???:lmao:

We're a family of 5 as well. I've had a hard time w/this but finally have the kids costumes all set. We'll have 2 pirates and 1 tinkerbelle. I know they'll be lots of pirates but for DS8 there really isn't much else he'd want to be and its real easy to put together and light weight for Florida. DD4 wanted to dress like Tinkerbelle from the beginning so that was easy - she already had the costume. And well - DD2 won't have anything to do w/her Minnie Mouse dress but loves her pirate outfit so a pirate she will be. As far as DH and I we might wear a halloween shirt/hat or something, not sure yet.

If you are brave enough....what about dressing as the family from "The Incredibles".
I think seeing a family dressed like that would be fantastic!
Have fun!

We actually did that last year with the boys and their babysitter! She went as Violet and then Parker as Dash and Thom as Jack. I don't know if I could get my DH in tights! :) I'll try though!

We're not doing MNSSHP, but we're doing Alice in Wonderland for Halloween this year. I'll be Alice, Hubby will be the Mad Hatter, DS4 will be the White Rabbit and DS 2 will be the Dormouse.

You could do Alice in Wonderland too... You could be Alice, your Hubby and DS5 and 4 could choose from the Mad Hatter, the White Rabbit, the Dormouse, the Caterpiller, or the Chesire Cat, and Grandma could be the Queen of Hearts.

OH WOW! That is it! That's what we're doing! My Grandma will be on a little scooter for the party, I am going to make it look like she is riding one of those falmingos! :)

That's perfect and we can dress it up or down depending on the weather!

Thank you so much for this idea and all of your ideas they were great!

I let my kids pick the DISNEY Movie this year. Now that they are a whole 4 years old, they really have their own opinions, at least the girls do. So, Peter Pan it is. I have 3 girls & 1 boy and one of my daughters demands on being Peter. She will be Peter, the other 2 girls will be Tinkerbell & Wendy and my son will be Captain Hook. Last year it was Toy Story. We had Woody, Jessie, Wheezy, and Bo Peep. Toy Story is easy because of all the the different toys that can be boy or girl. Putting the costumes together is always so much fun.

We went as Peter Pan and Gang when it was the five of us. You could have The youngest be Peter, Grandpa as Hook, Smee, Wendy a Lost boy etc.

Just be happy six is even harder. Now we tend to focus on the DW and I are themed together and we let the kids choose their favorite.

I know she already has figured it out and is going with Alice in Wonderland theme, but for those of you still looking for ideas, what about the Wizard of Oz. We went to a party a few years ago and hubby and wife were Dorothy and the scare crow. Hers was a dress made obviously but as for him, a work shirt, work pants, boots, some burlap, and straw and twine and voila, he was made. The cowardly lion and tin man may take some creative genious, but I have no doubt about Diser's ability to create! Good luck, we're a family of 4 still thinking. A few years ago I dressed up as Cruella, and dressed our 2 girls and our 2 foster boys as Dalmation puppies! When the kids went trick or treating as the home owner was handing out candy, I was looking past them over their shoulder for "puppies". You can't believe how many people took our pictures! We had a hoot! I haven't outruled this idea yet, but the girls refuse to be "puppies"!:guilty:
