Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade To End In June

I always thought this was a cute parade, but in my family of 4 I'm the only one that really appreciates the parades. So I can see where maybe they are not always a huge draw for everyone. And I can see how after several years of having the same parade some udpates need to be made.

This is so sad. I'm trying to stay positive for our upcoming trip in Nov but it's hard. I love that parade. I'm starting to think it's not worth going. I might try Disneyland or do another cruise.
I might have to wait a couple of years to go back to WDW.

Okay, what's the excuse now? Contract negotiations, new parade needs $, leaving due to personal choices? I'm sorry but Disney is charging more money than ever to get to their parks and cutting back like crazy. If 2013 was Limited Time Magic, this year must be the Year of a Million Cuts.

I do love the Jammin' Jungle parade. I have some very good memories of it, and some awesome pictures! I'm going with the optimist's stance that there are some amazing things in store for AK. I can be patient. :thumbsup2

I'm not a huge fan of the MK parades, but I liked this one. Among other things, the parade features a lot of rare 4WD vehicles that were really cool. Oh well, guess I'll ride dinosaur and safari an extra time each.

I agree with andyman8 :thumbsup2
A trip to Disney is not cheap. DAK might look amazing in 2017, but I'm spending money in 2014.
Don't get me wrong I'm looking forward to the new Fantasyland stuff.
Our family loves the different parades and park hopping.
Why not replace it with a new parade or wait to cancel this one.

because so much will be changing at this park over the next few years. But I understand I think they could at least let it run out the year.

You're right rteetz. I'm just getting so worried about our trip.
I hate change. I know the Avatar stuff will be great, the pictures look nice.
I will miss the parade I was looking forward to the Christmas version.

It is one of our favorites.....so sad. Glad we saw it last month.

That stinks... We will have to enjoy it while we are there in March. My dd loves AK the best.

Aww. We love this parade. We bought the cd of parade music a few years ago- it is in my car's CD player all the time just looping the AK parade. I'm not just saying that because of this thread either, I figured out last winter that it's the perfect morning music for my kids to be in a great mood all day by the time we get to school. On our first visit we nearly missed our magic express ride so we could see this parade one more time.

You should probably read up on the advisories section of the HUB if you want to be in the know of what is happening on property.

Thanks! I do try to often, just hadn't in the last couple days! Wish I hadn't posted before I checked this morning! Won't do that again! I deleted my post, since it was based on inaccurate and outdated CM information.

On other forums, the reasoning for the closure is the ongoing Avatar construction and the lack of a backstage route for the parade in the near future.

The speculation is also that Entertainment has four months to come up with other entertainment acts to fill the void of the extinct parade.

The backstage parade route is in part of the area earmarked for the Avatar expansion, and not far from new Festival of the Lion King theatre construction, so I guess it's not surprising that it's going to be closing. Hopefully they'll come up with something new, but at the same time, there aren't many areas not being affected by some kind of construction right now that we'd be able to put a parade like Jammin' Jungle through.

Everyone knows that any future "entertainment acts" at DAK will not include a parade before Avatar is completed. When FOLK closed, the next day a Dinoland Dance Party magically appeared. Hopefully some of the MJJ CMs will be absorbed back into FOLK if they aren't already training for the opening cast of FoF.

A couple of thoughts...

AK seems to be, not counting all the land given over to the animals, the smallest and most congested park area. So it is not inconceivable that a major construction project could throw up too many barriers to run a parade through the park.

WDW has to come up with something to replace it. As other posters have said, they often hang around the park after they would normally leave because the parade is ending the day. Without the parade, many people would truly make AK a half-day park and no longer burn up a full day pass visiting. This could encourage people to reduce their pass purchase by a day if they could see AK then run to one of the other parks for 6 or 8 hours.

What a shame that Disney will cease the Jammin Jungle parade.
It´s such a great parade with so much fun and interaction.

I am angry about their decision.

Please continue the parade and cease the crappy Avatar land idea

Who needs the ugly boring blue rats from Avatar in Disney World ...
definitely not me

:goodvibesAww. I love this. My three-year-old daughter begs us to listen to "Pixie Dust", the Trolly show music on our Four Parks One World Cd. We always listen to the music of Jammin' Jungle Parade, though, when we are on our way to the zoo. She loves sinnging "patapata pata pata" along with Minnie.
