This will be my family's first Mickey Halloween party and we are thoroughly excited. I'm so green and don't want to miss anything. So I'm asking for veteran help.

1. Where do we go to see fireworks
2. Is the parade in the beginning of the party?
3. I'm staying @ DLH can we use the monorail to go to the party? I mean will they have wristbands there.
4. Do we need to bring our own treat bags?

I would hate to be on space mountain missing the parade my DH would flip out. Lol

Thanks all!

I'm not bad, I was drawn this way!

1. The Hub, you want to see the Castle and left of the top of the Castle. People will save spots before the first parade.

2. No. Parade, Fireworks then Parade again. I forget the time but it's something like 9, 9:30, 10:30.

3. Not sure, but I think you need to go to the front gate to get check in to the party.

4. They give you a treat bad. You may want to buy or bring your own because you can easily get more candy than fits in the included treat bag.

I asked the question about the parade and was told it was more of a character cavalcade.

I'd call it a small parade or an elaborate cavalcade. I believe there are 3 floats and a few "mini" floats (like just a pumpkin)...lots of characters/dancers/etc.

The parade is a bit short but worth seeing. The fireworks are pretty spectacular.

Great shot of the fireworks!

I think this is a good picture to show that you need to stand in a spot where you can see the "moon" that is to the left of the castle. There will be projections on that, and if you are too far to the right (near the Tomorrowland entrance) you will miss it.

You absolutely definitely want to bring your own treat bag, the bags they offer are just way too small and if candy is a big goal then do bring your own bag. Something similar to the size of a standard reusable grocery bag is good, a pumpkin pail is too small. You can visit the stations more than once, I went last in 2009 or 2010, we only went the each station once but once was more than enough because we accumulated a ton of candy! Plus this isn't cheap so DO get LOTS of candy, anyone even adults can line up.

Yes, you ONLY want to view the fireworks show with a close as possible front and direct angled view of the castle, stay away from trees as they will get in your way. Show up early to find a good spot, if you can afford an hour which maybe be a long wait then that would be best, but at least 40 minutes in advance. Everyone will have to stand up so if you see lots of seated people and it seems like there's no room, once everyone stands up lots of room frees up.

It is a very good show, I've seen both the WDW show and DL and DL is WAY better, we even have a better soundtrack.

Haven't been too impressed with the DL Halloween parade, maybe it will be different this year but the fireworks show is far superior than the parade so that is a must, more than one parade performance to see. Got to see the WDW Halloween parade (and party) in 2010 and their parade is better, they even have the Hitchhiking Ghosts!

We are going to the MHP this year for the first time. However, we did see the special Halloween Fireworks in 2009 when they showed them nightly during the season. The fireworks were very cool. My issue with finding a spot is this:
We took the advice of a CM and got right up front, super close to the rope, just slightly to the left side/front of the Castle, so we were right in front of that Globe projection thing. Great Spot right? Well when we all stood up and people shifted a little we were ended up about 3 layers of people back from the rope....and we couldn't see the globe! It sits low. A solid wall of taller people in front of us, made it where we could only really see the very top of the castle, so we could the fireworks part, and our children couldn't see anything. At all. Then of course we had to try to hold the kids up to see at least a little, which, this year will not be possible for us to hold them up, they are too big now.
So I'm very concerned about how to get a good viewing spot that doesn't end like last time, when it seems we should have been in the perfect spot.
Would it be better to actually be further back? I have no clue honestly!

Sadly, it would make viewing much easier if everybody could stay seated, then it really wasn't an issue, however I do understand it's not going to happen, and could potentially be for safety reasons.

So my post is two-fold. To the OP, I would worry about being right up front (unless you can guarantee nobody in front of you), and looking for more specific spots that have worked well for others to share?:)

Yeah my daughter.. I'm 5'11 and always conscious about blocking people views. But there has to be a better way..

I'm not bad, I was drawn this way!

How did I miss the picture? It's beautiful I love it!! I really can't wait now.
