Okay, September 18th through the 20th is my Disney vacation trip! The way my Boyfriend and I, and his parents, 4 ADULTS plan to do this is, as follows

Sept. 18th - DAY OFF HANG AROUND ANAHEIM - ARRIVE AT HOTEL
Sept. 19th - Disneyland or Disney California Adventure
Sept. 20th - Disneyland or Disney California Adventure - GO HOME

The issue is that a Mickey's Halloween Party is happening Sept. 19th! So I wasn't planning on going to this party, because it costs EXTRA to go, separate tickets and all of that. BUT now I am thinking it over, is $420, at $105 each for adult tickets, worth it for this Mickey's Halloween Party? Or is the party NOT worth it?

Because I am worried about the timing, IF the party is taking place the 19th of September, and they close the parks, both parks, because the party is happening at BOTH theme parks this year! Does that mean they kick out the general public at 3-4PM?

When the parks will likely open around 8-10AM? Not giving much time to explore and ride rides etc.
When it comes to the 1 day park, $97 each, that wraps up to $388 bucks for 4 adults. So $388 times 2 parks, that's a lot of money, times the Mickey's Halloween Party tickets IF WE CHOOSE TO GO.

It's just UGH. Not sure what to do here!

Stop worrying! Do DCA on the MHP day and do DL on the other day. This works totally fine with your plan! Yes, that night will be more crowded at DCA but the Halloween party in DL isn’t exactly going to be empty! You will be absolutely fine skipping the Halloween party and saving the cash.

Also: huge misconception! The party is in DL ONLY (DL will close at 6pm to the general public). Party goers can access DCA from 3pm-6pm prior to the party kicking off in DL so that’s a great time to rest at the hotel or make a reservation for an early dinner.

The party itself is at Disneyland. The ticket is a park hopper though with access beginning at 3 or 4pm. Disneyland closed at 6 or 7 pm depending on the party time. DCA will be open till at least 8pm if not 10 or 12 depending on the day of the week.

My sister and I were there last year for a party and the year before during a party. I have to say that both actual party days seemed surprisingly empty during the morning and early afternoon. The other days that the parties weren’t happening seemed packed but we still had a blast. If you can swing it, the party is worth it! Loads of free candy (that you can use to pass out at Halloween), prime entertainment checking out the creativeness of people’s coustomes and pretty short lines for rides, plus there was a great parade last year! In the end, Good or bad, the time you have will be up to you. Enjoy! Cheers!

Another options is to purchase a 3 day park hopper (less overall than a ticket to MHP and two 1 day park tickets) and hop to Disneyland when folks are at DCA during MHP and spend your arrival day in the parks. You can get a 3 day ph at GetAwayToday for $105 a day.

They don't kick you out of both parks. Just Disneyland where the real party is but everyone tends to go to DCA during the party and it gets real crowded. But I must say, the party itself is phenomenal and worth it if you like Halloween.
