Mickeys Halloween Party Crowds?

We are going to Orlando in October for a Universal Only budget trip As if I am capable of Orlando & budget in same sentence...

Well I can't help but want to go to Mickey's NSSH party. Problem is we went to Mickey's Christmas Party in 2005 & I hated it! Much too crowded for me. All the special things I wanted to see (Mickey Night before Christmas, etc) was horribly crowded.

Halloween events seem to be more spread out with the Trick or Treating.

Given that we don't have day tickets for Disney, we'd also spend time doing the rides.

Any feedback?

I think the crowds are managable. I go for the fireworks which have a villian theme, the waits for rides are not long and the park stays open late.

Are you going in early or late October? We were at the first MNSSHP in October, found the crowds very manageable. We entered the park on just our party tickets at 4:00 pm, had dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern, then did Fantasyland rides until the party started. We literally rode Dumbo with less than a 10 minute wait at around 6:00. I think a lot of folks who weren't staying for the party had already left. The crowds during the party were lighter than I was expecting. We didn't do any trick or treating (DD was only 1 year old), but I've read that the later in the party you wait, there aren't any lines at the candy spots. We rode Space Mountain three times in a row with less than 5 minutes wait at the loading platform. The first parade of the evening did draw some crowds, but I would think the second parade has a pretty minimal crowd.

I would imagine the closer it gets to Halloween, the busier the parties are. Also, weekend nights tend to draw in more locals, so look for Thursday night parties.

We were there in 2006. We went on most rides with almost no wait at all.

The earlier you go in October, the better! Especially during a weekday!
