We are soooo excited - we are going to Mickey's Halloween Party. It will be me, my sister and our children (one boy 8 and one girl 9). I am trying to think of costumes to wear. I have read on the boards not to wear anything too hot. If anyone has any ideas or any suggestions from past experiences please respond. I want to make this sooo memorable!! Thank you! :Pinkbounc

Think easy to pack!
When we went in 2004- DS7 was a magician (hat, cape, wand and eyeliner for mustache, DS was 1 so she was a bee, DH was pirate': doorag with fake black hair attached, parrot on shoulder, eyepatch. Oh and me I was a cat wore all black (tee and capris) and work cat ears, big tailand drew a nose and whiskers.

These things were able to be worn with regular clothes it worked out and was tons of fun. I would like to be a bit more elaborate this year. Was thinking daughter could be tink, son peter pan, hubby cap hook, me wendy and my mother would be going - what could she be?

The people that had a group theme looked awesome. Whatever you decide on, make sure kids can peel down if necessary. Have fun!

I agree....have attended the last 5 years and the group themed costumes are the greatest. Think of any movie and go with that theme.

averill94 can mom be Mrs. Darling?

I finally convinced my DH to dress up when we go the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party!! :woohoo:
I will be Dorthy, DH will be the Scarecrow, DS's 7 & 8 will be either the Cowardly Lion or the Tin Man (I'll let them pick which one they want to be.) Since I can sew, and my mother has professional grade sewing machines, I will make our costumes. I hope to be able to make them as light weight as possible.

She could be Smee :rotfl2:

I have to agree w/ nothing too hot.

We went Oct21(or thereabout) and it was **HOT**.

DD was 7 months and was Minnie. DH and I didn't dress up, but both wore black shirts (to kind of coordinate w/ her in the picture). By the time we got there, the sun was already down and it was still hot.

Don't get me wrong, we had a fabulous time - but it was hot and "quick paced". If a child (or adult) had a heavy costume (or one w/ a lot of "accessories" to carry) it might become burdensome. Think simple, easy and light!
