What exactly are these and when do they start? Is Disney decorated all of November for Christmas? When do the Halloween festivities start? Are these on certain nights and do you pay extra?

Sorry for all the questions. I have seen the abbreviation MNSSHP and figured it out but I would like more info.

Thanks

We went to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party this past year on the first night and it was alot of fun. This past year, I believe it started on 9/4/09 and went till 11/1/09.
Here is some good information on it. http://allears.net/tp/mk/mnssh.htm

We had a really good time. My kids dressed up for a little while... it was so hot, the soon shed the costumes for their shorts and t-shirts.

There are 2 great parades that night, special character meet-n-greets, as well at trick-o-treat stations all over Magic Kingdom.

It is a hard ticket event which means only those that have the special ticket are allowed in the park during that time. It costs me around $200 for our family of 4, but it was a really good night. Also, even though the party doesn't start until 7, you can use your ticket to get into the park around 4 or 4:30pm so you can get extra time in the park without using one of your other tickets.

As far as the Christmas party goes.. I haven't been, but a friend of mine goes just about every year. Here is a link for it http://allears.net/tp/hol_mk.htm
I think it usually runs from early November to Mid December, and the decorations are amazing. It is on my to-do list, if we are ever able to get down there during that time of year.

Good luck. I think you will have fun with either.

The dates for MNSSHP should be out the end of March-ish, maybe the first of April. They ran 24 dates last year, beginning in September with the last party November 1.

The dates for MVMCP I want to say are out June/July-ish, maybe someone on here will get a tip and post them in May!

Either way, the parks are decorated early for both parties. It just depends on when you can/want to go.

Good luck!

MNSSHP is a halloween party after hours at the MK .Tickets cost extra .It generally runs from early Sept- Halloween. MVMCP- is a Christmas party at the mK and it runs from early NOV-Dec 18th or 19th ( it never runs thanksgiving week or christmas week). It also costs extra. The exact dates for 2010 will be released late March/April with tickets on sale May 1st

Do You just call CRO to purchase the tickets for the MVMCP once the dates are announced?

I believe the MNSSHP starts toward the end of September. Maybe last 2 weeks. We went last year and LOVED IT!~!!!

We've done both, and prefer the Halloween party over the Christmas party. Both were fun, but there's just something about the Halloween party....

We have done both. At the Christmas party, they had fake snow on Main St. It was 65` and it was snowing at the happiest place on earth. It was surreal. We had hot chocolate and cookies and the place was decorated amazingly (of course, it's Disney! :) ). We got a great pic with Mickey dressed in his Christmas best and the Christmas shows and parade were awesome. Now this was 15 years ago but I bet it is still great, probably better. :)

Agree. I think that it is because the only thing at WDW decorated for Halloween is MK, none of the other parks do really anything. Christmas at WDW is EVERYWHERE, there is plenty to do that is included in park admission( Resort decor, osborne lights ,holiday storytellers) that makes it feel like Christmas.Only at Mk can you really enjoy Halloween season( unless you are there for Halloween night, then there are other things)

Thank You for the info about the MVMCP! :thumbsup2

We got our party tickets from our AAA travel agent. She got them by mail at the office and we picked them up with our vacation package. I love going through AAA because they do all the grunt work I don't like (hotel, tickets, etc.).
