Im not sure exactly what section this is appropriate for, but im going to give this one a try! :]
I am planning a trip for me and my Husband for September...
It is his first time to Disney World and we are celebrating our first anniversary.
I have been trying to think of ways to surprise him and make this trip EXTRA magical..
I have been looking at the Disney Florist website and the Mickey's Grand Welcome in room celebration looks awesome! I was just wondering if anyone has done it before!? Is it too childish for just us adults?? I love the idea of personalizing a blanket that can say "Our First Trip" and the picture frame is something that I like too.My Husband is really a big kid at heart and I know he is just going to love this trip, I just want to do something special for him, something that's going to stand out and be special about our first trip together! I've looked at the other options on Disney Florist and the anniversary ones just don't look like something that he would enjoy.
Any other suggestions?

We did it for my DS's first visit. It is good for kids and kids at heart. If you visit their site at disneyworld.disneyfloralandgifts.com, they also have romantic celebrations. Good luck and have fun!

Just saw where you didn't like the romantic ones. Check out all their offerings, though. If he is a Disney lover, any of them would be enjoyed, I'm sure.

Another option on the Disney Florist site that we've purchased multiple times (welcome gift for wedding guests, mom's retirement, anniversary trip) is Mickey's Kool Snack. It's $45 and you get a cute Disney cooler full of drinks and snacks which is fun to have in the room. They have a couple more expensive options too, but once you add delivery and tax things can get pricey so we've always done the Kool Snack. They also have a new version of the Kool Snack which is called 'you can do it' and it has some 'healthier' snack and drink items!

I have considered Mickeys Grand Welcome before, but my more practical side took over...$315 before tax and delivery was a lot to pay when my husband probably wouldn't really 'want' the two giant plushes. I just kept thinking of all the other souvenirs we could buy with the money I saved! Haha!!

I asked DS, who is also a kid at heart and huge WDW fan, for some ideas. Here goes:

Richard Petty ride-along experience
California Grill dinner, then watch Wishes from the roof (maybe before your first trip into a park)
Segway tour
Illuminations cruise
Character meal

We went many times just as a couple and loved every minute. Enjoy.

PS-- make sure he wears a first visit pin.

PPS-- maybe make him your own first visit care package with fun things he can use like an autograph book, poncho, Mickey tee shirt, sunscreen stick, etc.

I was disappointed with disney floral. I didn't order one of the in room experiences, but I ordered 100$ worth of stuff. It was delivered late and they did not deliver what I ordered... They said it was out of stock, but what I had ordered was available in almost every large store in disney... It was not sold out! Very dissapointed!

Wow! That's a shame! We've worked with Disney Florist about 8 times and have never had a bad experience. This last time (June 2013) our item was delivered later in the day than expected, but that was it. Everything has always been great through them!

Thanks for all the good ideas guys!
I didn't really think of doing my own first visit package! :) I'm super excited and I have plenty of time to think of something special!!!

What about renting a fireworks cruise?the cost is near the same as the welcome gift. You can bring snacks on board and enjoy Wishes or Illuminations on your own boat!

Another idea - you can have a replica of your wedding cake ordered and maybe sent to your room depending in where you stay. I did this for DH'a birthday (well it was a cake not a copy of our wedding cake) and he LOVED it! I also had a big Mickey & balloons from Disney florist sent to the room. They did a great job & coordinated delivery with the cake. The cake chatter thread in the restaurant forum has lots of info. You could even have something simple like chocolate covered strawberries sent to your room with a little planning.

Good luck..I'm sure your trip will be magical!
