Hi-
Just wondering what everyone thinks of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party? I'm wondering if you feel it is worth the price (I think it's about $39).
Thanks for your input!

I think so (So much so that I have tickets for this December, even though I have yet to book my trip.). It's better than an E-Ride night (which are pretty cool unto themselves). It's a chance to really see Christmas in MK with snow, a special parade, fireworks, and more. I am really looking forward to going again (hopefully -- who knows!)

Without a doubt in my mind!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc I can't wait to be holding another set of those hot little tickets in my hands next year!! There is so much to do, it is really hard to see it all in one night!

So, I've heard about the snow and the parade. What else happens? ....and...is the park overcrowded?

We were there in Dec. 2002. The park was not crowded at all! :bounce: I didn't want to waste my time that evening doing attractions - there was so much to see that could ONLY be seen at the Christmas party! There was a fantastic show in front of the castle. I remember sitting in front of the castle, waiting. I looked up at the clock on the tower and found myself amazed that it was MIDNIGHT, and there I was....still inside Magic Kingdom!! :) The fireworks will totally take your breath away! I was not expecting what happened (I don't want to tell you and spoil the surprise! :p )...all I can say is WOW!!! (As I did several times while video taping the show!). The musical group Jump 5 was there giving a free concert. They happen to be a favorite of my 2 girls...a very pleasant surprise for them! Let me get my guide from that night....

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parade 8:15 and 10:40
Fantasy in the Sky 9:15
Mickey's Twas the Night Before Christmas 7:15, 8:15, 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30
Celebrate the Season 7:00, 9:30 and 12:00 am
Wild West Christmas Show 7:30, 8:45, 10:00 and 11:30
Belle's Enchanted Christmas 7:30, 8:40, 9:30, 10:20 and 11:10
Santa's Snowflake Special 7:25, 8:05, 8:55, 10:15 and 11:30
Lake Howell Holiday Brass 6:45, 7:45 and 9:00

Nope...nothing much to see that night!!! :p :bounce: :jester:

WOW! Sounds like there will be tons going on! Should I receive more details when I receive my tickets? I went ahead and booked...I'll be there for my birthday! I can't wait! Any tips on where to be to see things for the best view?
Thanks!

My biggest hint would be NOT to do what we did! We walked into Main St. and immediately staked out a place on the sidewalk to see the first parade. DO NOT do this!! :bounce: The parade didn't get off for almost an hour late...I was fuming! There was so much I wanted to see IMMEDIATELY and standing there was about killing me! From what I've read since then, most people recommend the second parade. We waited to see the show in front of the castle til last...doesn't start til midnight...makes the evening last longer! :) As soon as you get your map (don't forget to pick one up - it's not the same as the daily map!), check out and see what you really want to see. The Jump 5 show wasn't on the schedule and we didn't see it til we were already in the park (they were at the Tomorrowland Stage). Check for any 'extras'. Don't forget to get your hot chocolate and cookies too! Nice freebie and you can go back as often as you like (DH went back ALOT! ). Get your photo taken when you get in...there are a number of places you can choose from...also on the map! As far as the fireworks go....try and stand in front of the castle...not too close though. Have your camera ready! You're not going to believe it!!!!

If you want, I can scan the map from last year and email it over to you.....let me know! I didn't receive any specific details when the tickets arrived. Just a standard form letter. Believe me, you will NOT regret going!! :Pinkbounc

We personally didn't like it!

I know that sounds crazy but it didn't do anything for us. We got so much more done during EE, an dit was just too late for our kids.

DH was disappointed at the lack of rides open. The free pictures were nice, and the snacks, but it really didn't do anythign for us

We're not show or parade people so really it didn't mean anythign for us.

Now, we were completely the opposite. We didn't use the time at the party to do rides (well, we did do Space Mountain and TTA...the kids got to see Jump 5 relaxing backstage :D ). We didn't want to waste the time doing rides you can do when the park is open...we wanted to see all the special events that we could! :p

We went to MCMCP last Dec. for the first time. It was the highlight of our trip! We were admitted in early, (I think around 4:00) and did some of the rides that were closed in the evening. We didn't get to all of the shows, but there was very little waiting at the rides. The crowds may have been down due to the cold weather that week and the fact that it was a Tues. pm. We had more than our fill of cookies and hot chocolate. We ordered our tickets online at the official Disneyworld site. It was very easy. My only regret about going in Jan. this year is that we will miss MVMCP and the holiday decorations. The other do not miss attraction that we accidently stumbled on was the Candlelight Processional. It was wonderful. When I saw it on the DIS boards, I thought it sounded boring, (sorry everyone), but when we saw it, we regretted not arriving early enough to sit down. We had to watch it standing in the back. It is on our list of things to do next time we go in Dec. Debby

I believe I called the 1-407-WDISNEY number. They'll have a list of dates for you to chose from. You can also get the "official" information from the disneyworld.com site. :)

It's SO worth it to me that we buy tickets for 2 nights. I tried to talk DH into 3 last year but he just wouldn't go for it :D

Let's just say I love this event.

What rides were open and how long were the waits? We are going to go on December 9th. We only have 3 days left on our parkhoppers and thought this would be a nice addition.

I honestly don't remember much of anything being closed. It's not like an E-ticket night when it's just the big rides. The only thing I remembered being closed was Alien Encounter. We rode BTMRR 8X in a row one party without ever leaving our seats. It was AWESOME - that's DH's favorite - which helps since it will down during this year's trip. The shows and parade are great - I LOVE this parade. And the fireworks are incredible. We try to do one night of attractions and one night of the specialty party stuff. If you will be there during two dates for the party I would recommend the earlier one....our 2nd party last year it did nothing but rain and the parade and several shows had to be cancelled. We did get a refund but I would have been heartbroke if that had been the only one we were attending. If you go early you have the option of a later date during your trip (if they aren't sold out) if there is miserable weather resulting in cancellations of the parades and such. Hope that helps :D

We will be arriving in the afternoon on 11/30 and since we don't have to use a hopper day on the party I thought that it would be a fun way to kick off our vacation (without actually using a day).
Does anyone know if Sundays are more crowded than Tuesdays? They are my two choices.
Thanks,
Kimba

I've heard Sunday is more crowded than Tues. We did Tues and had a nice size crowd, but nothing to the point you wouldn't be enjoying yourself.

As far as the attractions, I have my guide from last year in front of me....
Pirates of the Caribbean
Magic Carpets of Alladin
Swiss Family Treehouse
Splash Mountain
Big Thunder
Country Bear Jamboree
Haunted Mansion
Peter Pan's Flight
Small World
Cinderella's Golden Carrousel
Dumbo
Snow White's Adventure
Winnie the Pooh
Tea Party
Barnstormer
Mickey's Country House
Minnie's "" ""
Donald's Boat
Indy Speedway
Astro Orbitor
Buzz Lightyear
Space Mountain

Lot's to see and do!!
:bounce:

Definitely worth every penny! We have done it several times and loved it! And, coming from the Northeast, I can tell you it really does look like snow falling on Mainstreet.

The ony advice I can add - get your picture taken before you ride any of the big rides, especially Splash Mountain!

You may also want to check into the Candlelight Processional at EPCOT. It's another Do Not Miss holiday event.

I love Mickey's Very Merry Christmas as well as the Halloween nights. I think it is well worth the money. Even for those on a budget. The pricing is very reasonable for a chance for basically no lines. And, also the family pictures they mail you for free are excellent. Getting autographs is easy also. Lastly, the parades are super special.
I highly recommend these specials nights.

We went to the one on Dec. 2nd this year. It was worth every penny!!! Everything was so awesome!!! Can't wait to do the Halloween party next year!! You will love it!:D
