Mickey's Christmas Party - Adult Perspective?

I enjoyed going. It really got me in the Christmas feeling :santa: , especially since I'm originally from New England and haven't seen snow in over 2 years. They really bring the atmosphere out with the cocoa and cookies. I did find that attempting to view the Osborne Christmas Lights was a bit chaotic and I felt unsafe as it was too crowded and hard to find an exit. Overall though, I would think about going again some day. Even if you decide not to do that, DO make a trip to the Grand Floridian. In fact, go resort hopping to see all the decorations.

I believe MVMCP is one of the best events at WDW. Our strategy for the party is to make the day a 'lazy' day. Sleep in, then go to your resorts pool. Then, get a late lunch ADR at a resort restaurant that you like or haven't tried yet. At 4:00 PM, enter the Magic Kingdom using your MVMCP ticket. That way, you have 3 hours to tour and ride the rides that do not operate during the party. After 7, take in all of the party, and walk on to the rides you like.

We're going for the first time on 16 November - you guys have made me SO excited!!! Thank you!!!

I'm travelling alone with my Mum - she'll miss my Dad loads and I'll miss my hubby but we are so excited about our Mummy/Daughter trip.

I casually sent her the link months ago to look at MVMCP online and never thought it would appeal to her - she is SOOO excited about it - she can't wait!!!!!!!! (Me neither of course!)

We're doing this too! It'll be our first full day in Disney so we plan on getting up at a leisurely pace (although with the time difference for us, we might be up at 6am anyway!), getting breakfast at the Mara and then heading to Downtown Disney until just after lunch (lunch at EOS!), then we'll head back to AKL for a nap (I'm pregnant and need naps!) and aim to get to MK for 4pm!

We are going 12/20-26 so we will miss the party by just 1 day!

Will we get to see all these things anyway, given that we will be in MK on Christmas day? Will the night before christmas be playing in the Galaxy?

I read another post that seemed to be saying they begin this stuff as part of the regular day around 22/23, but I didn't really understand what was being said. Thanks so much!

I have bought my tickets for December 2nd, can't wait to go :woohoo:

I really want to do this while we're there next week but just can't talk DH into it.

:cool1: DH and I do not have children and we usually go twice during our Christmas vacation. This year we are only going once on 12/9. We are taking my parents as an anniversary gift. This is my dream trip with them. They went to WDW many years ago and we have been yearly since 2002--we have never been together. This is the year!! Have a wonderful time. Just remember Disney is what you make of it. I don't think I have ever wasted money on anything there. Even if the food is just OK, we look at it like "we are still at Disney World, right". So go to the party with a joyful heart and you will have a fabulous time. It really has that special magic about it.:santa:

i'm going for the first time and i'm a little scared :scared: . i don't like crowds. i hope its not as bad as i imagine. will be there on 12/18.

If you see a crazy, singing lady with a Christmas Mickey hat skipping down Main St. with a tolerant, chuckling husband in tow (also with a hat on) - come up and say hi! :rotfl:

I will be looking for you too!!! we are also going the same night. Can't wait!!:cool1:

I grew up going to MVMCP & hadn't gone since I was a kid. I went last year for the first time as an adult with three other adults & we all LOVED it.

If you're into Christmas it's definitely worth it.

In the last year I went to all three special parties (Xmas, Hallo & P&P) & the exact same thing happened with all of them...after the fireworks 75% of the crowd completely clears out. So from about 9:30 to close it's almost totally cleared out.

You walk onto everything. We just kept walking in a circle riding space mountain three times in a row with no wait. Then the same with Thunder Mt.

My DH, my parents and I will be at MVMCP Dec 7. It's the night before my birthday, so I figure I'll be officially turning forty ni.....um, I mean another year older about midnight in the MK! I can then pretend the whole MVMCP is for me! right? :rolleyes1

This is our first hard ticket event too, and also my DHs first trip to the world. I can't wait!
