Mickey's Backyard BBQ

Has anybody ever been to Mickeys Backyard BBQ. We are trying to figure out the best places to eat and we were all interseted in this. I was wondering if anybody had gone, what it was like, if the food was good, and if it was worth the price.

We went 2 years ago. We had a good time, but IMHO it probably wasn't worth the cost.

The food was ok - nothing great. The dancing and such with the characters was adorable, but it was so crowded that dd could barely get anywhere near them. It was also very noisy and dd finally had it after about 2 hours and said she wanted to go home. She was only 3 at the time.

All in all, we liked it but it is definitely not one of our favorites and I highly doubt we would go again unless the price were much less.

This was one of the few things we really didn't like at Disney. I felt the way it was run it was more like a "free for all" with kids running up to characters. I thought my little ones were going to be trampled. I would never do it again. We'd rather go to nice character meals or the HDDR than ever do Mickey's Backyards Barbeque again.

We really enjoyed it, but our son was 12 and it was no big deal not to get a lot of time with the characters. It's not set up like a regular character meal were the characters visit with everyone. A lot of people are disappointed because they think they will get there own character time and they don't. If you have younger children or want to get pictures or autographs with the characters this is not the place to go.

It's fun if you want to listen to a country band, hear a few corny jokes and just relax.
