Has anyone been? What are the reviews? Besides Mickey, what are the other characters? Last question if you are on the dining plan, is this a 2TS? Don't know if I want to spend 2TS for a bbq.

It is 2 TB credits and in my opinion not worth it. It is picnic food and you stand in line for it and then find a picnic table to sit at. The characters were Mickey, Minnie and I think Chip and Dale?? Not positive. It was so loud our ears were hurting so we ate and left. Other people did it as well, so I don't know if it's always that loud or if we just got lucky.
We really enjoyed SOA and HDDR and the food is brought to your table at both of those places, which I like much better. These were worth the 2 TB in my opinion, but the BBQ was not.

Our children loved this. It is their favorite character dinner. They love dancing with the characters. The food is great if you like BBQ. They serve beer for the adults... :thumbsup2

I am also curious :confused3. We have ADR's for here during our June trip to celebrate DD's 16th birthday. Should I change my plans? Thanks in advance.

I would! I think it was mainly the little kids dancing, unless she is going with friends and can act silly together. My DD was 11 at the time and she was too old for it. Maybe SOA would be more to a 16 yr old's liking or even HDDR. They all ask for bdays and anniversaries.

Thank you Ceecee. This helped a lot. I had HDDR on my list as well. We will do HDDR instead.

Our DDs loved it.

You can go to utube and put in Mickey's Backyard BBQ, and see home videos of the meal . . .see if it is your kind of fun or not. Everyone is different.

Food wise it was my DH's favorite meal of our trip. The ribs were very good & he swears they had the best potato salad ever. :) He insisted we go again this year, and he doesn't ask to do much on vacations.

Again, what everyone wants from a vacation is different - this may be for you, or it may not. It is loud, but it is fun.

We loved it. As a matter of fact we are calling everyday to get into it this time around in June. We tried booking it at the 89 days out and it was booked solid on both day the last week of June. We just hope that we can get it before then.:surfweb:

We loved this! My daughter was 2.5 and had such fun dancing with the characters. Mickey, Minnie, Chip, Dale and Goofy danced. Chip and Dale posed for pictures outside. Minnie and Goofy came around the tables to sign books and get photos taken (though they were really hurrying around, so you had to do it quickly).

It is loud and hot (its outdoors), but my daughter had a blast. For the young ones, like my daughter, you really need a parent out on the dance floor with them to make sure they don't get run over. Some parents can get a bit aggressive with this apparently, though we honestly found everyone to be nice and having a great time. We left after the first couple of rounds of dancing, since it was bedtime, but it seemed that then more of the older kids and even adults got out there to dance. I'd definitely do it again!

We went this past November and we had a blast.

It's Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, chip and dale. They are dressed in their country hodown clothes, minnie's is a red/white plaid dress, i believe micky's in overalls. They alternate between shows (like a cowboy who does a lasso show), line dances, and dancing with the characters. The only bad thing is they don't come to your table, you go to them out on the floor and they are surrounded by everyone. No lines or anything. The kids love it because they can interact and dance with the characters but it's hard to get a good photo of just your kid and the character. We enjoyed the food too. Buffett with ribs, hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cobb, salads, baked beans, chicken, cornbread, and all you can eat ice creams like chocolate dipped mickey heads, fruit bars, and large popscicles.

It's two TS credits but i think it's worth it.

I was thinking of adding this to our ADR's in sept but was unsure. I watched some video's on youtube this morning, and while it doesn't look like DH's kind of music, the food is up his ally. Besides we are going for the kids right?:rotfl: They had goofy in the video's so I'm sold :lmao:!

Does anyone know if it is done in December and if so do they add a Christmas "touch" to the show? And if you have been in Dec. was it too cold to enjoy?
