Mickeys backyard BBQ

What are your thoughts on this? I am getting ready to make some ADR's and trying to figure out different resturants that we haven't done in the past. We did hoop dee doo last year, and DD loved it. Not sure if I really want to do it again ,but DH kind of does. (he liked the food) LOL!

WE went in November 2008 - the backyard BBQ was our favorite meal of the trip. We enjoyed the food, and the entertainment.

If you haven't done so - you might go to utube and put in Mickey's Backyard BBQ and watch some of the videos to see if the entertainment is what you are looking for. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip & Dale come out in western wear dance with the guests. A man does a rope trick. There is singing, dancing, etc. It was a lot of fun. It did startled our DDs at first, as it is a very loud meal - but once they got use to the noise level, they had a good time.

The food was our favorite. The ribs were really, really good. Our dds loved the chicken and the mac w/cheese. My DH said it was the best cole slaw he ever ate. We didn't try the hamburgers though - to be honest, they didn't look good to us. But the ribs could not be beat. We ate at WCC later in the week, hoping the ribs would be as good - but they were not.

This meal does include beer & wine.

I've never been to the Hoop Dee Doo to offer a comparison. But for our family, this meal (Backyard BBQ) is a have to repeat for 2009.

I am curious to hear opinions as well since this is one I am really considering, but since it is so expensive I want to be sure before I reserve it.

I went for my birthday a few years ago

I did youtube it. LOL! I decided not to do it. It seems really loud and crowded and kind of chaotic. So I booked the hoop dee doo. The bad thing is that only the 9:30 show was available for the day I wanted it, so we will be up late that night for sure. But DD loved it so much last year, and DH asked me twice now if we were going to that, so I guess that what they want. LOL!

SOOO Fun, This is my favorite thing in the park. It gives you the best chance to see the characters up close without waiting in a line! You get to mosey down with them on the dance floor! Plus the food is amazing, all you can eat- Ribs, hamburgers, hot dogs, salads(many different kinds) corn bread, BEER, and Wine! Watermelon, Cake...I could go on forever! Way worth the money because you get a show too.. I'm jealous, I want to go!
