I'm going to try posting this question here and maybe it won't get deleted!!!!! I'm not ASKING if anyone is canceling their reservation - I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience/luck getting into this after its full. Should I keep checking or would it be wasting my time? Thanks!

Depends when you are trying to get it for. I would try checking at the 48 hour mark or so.

I definately think you should keep checking. Not sure, but Im thinking that this is a dinner that you have to pay for in advance. If so, Im sure that if some ppl realize that they cant/or dont want to go, they will call and cancel.
Definately keep trying if this is an event you want to do.

Karen :)

Definitely keep trying! I was thinking about booking this, there was space available but I didn't do it. The next afternoon I went to book it, no availability. Ugh! I checked every day for about 2 weeks, no luck. Then boom! One day, about 3 weeks before our trip, it just showed up as available!

Just keep trying. I bet you'll get the ressie you want :-)

KEEP TRYING! How far away is your trip? I read somewhere that you should "step up the stalking" around the 45 day mark bc spots will open up as people cancel their trips. Don't know how true this is though.

Hi,

We cancelled our reservation for the Backyard BBQ yesterday. I'm not sure if it was for Thurs 11th or 18th. It was one of them two anyway

Good Luck

Thank you everyone. I guess I'll keep trying and put more effort into it now. We leave in 48 days!!! They only have 3 dates while we're there and out of those 3 the 1st day is our arrival day and the 3rd is mvmcp so we can only go nov 27th. What is the opinions on it? We have hoop dee doo booked already. Would you recommend one versus the other?

We've never done Mickeys Backyard BBQ but have done Hoop Dee Doo a few times. I can tell you my DGrandchildren (ages 7,5 and 3 last time we went) LOVE Hoop Dee Doo Revue.
As a matter of fact we were thinking of doing the Backyard BBQ this April but had read some unfavorable reviews so we took it off our list.
Not sure how old your kids are but I do think Hoop Dee Doo is lots of fun for most kids. Food isnt too bad either.
Just MHO.

Karen :)

I was able to get a res for 6 on Nov 10th earlier this week- I had been checking for a while.

I got one!!!! But i dont know if we will be able to keep it. It's at 6:30 and our plane lands at 3. What do you think??

Count your blessings. IMO, you'd be wasting your time by going. You're really not missing anything. The food is blah and so is the show. The character interaction on the dance floor is a nightmare -- kids and parents running everywhere.. There's a reason why the place is already half empty when it ends..

We just did this last Thursday night. We were not impressed at all and left very early. The food is not wonderful and the interaction with the characters is CHAOTIC. It cost twice the money of any of the other character meals we had and was the only meal we actually had to pay for upfront. We knew right after we arrived it was something we would never do again.

That's tight. We went in September. Our flight landed at 1:30, we were at the resort by 3, headed to the pool and hired a cab to take us at 5:45, still had to wait for a bus at FW got there a little late.

Also, I'll echo the others. It was ok. The characters are cute, the kids loved the dancing. But it was 2 ts credits for a picnic table, and a lot of running around after the kids. We wouldn't do it again.
