Mickey's Backyard BBQ - Cat 1 available for DDP credits?

I just booked a reservation at Mickey's backyard BBQ for my upcoming August trip. I had heard of people last year getting Category 1 seats with their dining credits - I gather they switched to category seating last Fall. However, when I called, I was told that Cat 1 seats are only available for cash guests and that I could only book Cat 2.

Just wondering if anyone else successfully booked Category 1 seats with their DDP credits?

As a side note, it was annoying to have to call to book this with dining credits. I wish the website had a way of handling it. My guess is I will have to do the same for a CRT ressie when my window opens up in a few more days. Ugh - I spent a solid half hour on hold.

Elaine what ever happened with this? Were you able to use dining credits for Cat 1?!

No, only Cat 2 available for dining credits. We still had a great time!

Same for me when we booked for this past March. Could only get Cat2 on DDP. Still ended up with decent seats and had lots of fun.
