My family has ADR at MBB in August and just wanted to know if this was a good choice. I have seen many good reviews on HDDR...Wondering if we should try and change the ressie or stick with our original choice of MBB?

I'd change it for HDDR. I've done both and was sorely disappointed in MBB but have done HDDR twice and love it! It's a bit hokey but great fun for the entire family!

:cool2:We haven't done either yet , but I changed our ADR from HDDR to MBB. The more I looked at HDDR, incl Youtube footage, teh more I thought my kids would like MBB. They are pretty easy going, so I'm sure they would like both, but MBB seems to suit us more, incl. the food!
I guess it is really particular to your family....:grouphug:

We just got back from disney and went to HDDR for Mother's day and i have to say it is DEFINETLY and MUST DO!!!! It is an amazing show, and very interactive. The food is really good and it doesn't feel like you are at a resturant!!! I would DEF change!!!

Aug=HOT
MBBQ-NO AC, open seating at picnic tables
HDDR-Really nice AC, assigned seating at tables with chairs(some swivel to allow you to eat then turn around to see the show.

I have not done the BBQ, I have read on here though that it is a bit of a free for all, kids trying to dance with characters, parents trying to get their kids up to dance with characters ect.

The HDDR is a fun show, I have done it since I was small and when we took my kids for their first time(HDDR not Disney) they were 5 and 8 and sang songs from the show for days after.

I agree that HDDR was a great show! My kids loved it and the food was very good.

I have a ressie for MBYBBQ in August......We wanted to try something different.

So....Do one now and save the other for another trip! You can't go wrong!

HDDR we loved and MBBQ was a big disappointment. The BBQ was HOT, you have to stand in line for the picnic style food and then find a table. Once the charactors came out it was so LOUD, we had to leave. Many others did as well.

We did the BBBQ last week, wow I couldn't wait to leave! The only thing it was good for was a laugh!! They had a "trick roper". A guy that does lasso tricks and such. The only thing that would have made that interesting is if he put it around his neck.

HDDR!!!!! It's a great way to get into the Disney Spirit. I would venture that the food is rather similar, so I would go with the corny show. I loved HDDR.

We just did Hoop Dee doo last week for the first time. Show was a riot, the ribs were fantastic, fun server. We actually both enjoyed it more than Cirque Du Soliel, which was also impressive.
We do HDR again in a heartbeat!

Thanks for all the help....going to try TODAY to change it to HDDR! Sounds like from most of the comments that one is WAY better than MBYBBQ. :thumbsup2 Crossing my fingers that I can get the ressie now!

I just have to beat this dead horse a bit more and throw in another recommendation for the HDDR. I did it when I was 9 years old, twice in my teens, and about 4 few years ago (I'm 33 now) and it's still my all time favorite dinner show. They succeed brilliantly at multilevel comedy where it's great for both kids and adults. I love how it's basically the same exact show all these years later and yet it's just as entertaining as ever.

Now that I think about it, I think I'm about due for another HDDR evening!

Thank you for your input!! I was really on the fence about MBYBBQ but with the characters there I thought maybe that would be fun. But the reviews for HDDR seemed sooooo much better. I called and got the ressie changed just a bit ago! I am sooooo excited and FINALLY have all my ADR's done.
